I’ve also got this issue occasionally. It feels like the GPU is getting mixed up with the frames it generates. The issue is usually caused when there’s very high demand on the system at a random second, e.g., very fast view panning or moving from inside to outside camera can induce it.
What fixed it for me was to go into the settings, turn Frame Generation off, save, then turn it on again, save. That usually solves it (but the issue occasionally returns - have to do the same procedure then).
In MSFS 2024, we have this annoying feature that every time you press Escape, it zooms out of the airplane, just to zoom back in when you have changed your settings. This creates additional CPU/GPU load and prevents the fix sometimes. Hence, before going into settings, I go to outside view, then press escape, change settings, and then return to inside view once it’s all done.

this was working really smooth for me before… one month ago I had no issues at all. now, is impossible to even enter the plane.
this is so sad. Why I can’t keep the same settings in a month? why I have to continuously calibrate the settings and moving them. I don’t even know who to blame, Asobo or nvidia and their gluttony

the performance is a disaster I have a very good system and I have big lag, it’s awful. I completely deleted MSFS 2024 and reinstalled everything new, and lags everywhere. I tested MSFS 2020 with much higher settings, it’s extremely smooth and 100 fps on average

Hello everybody!
I just need some help becouse i bought new setup 4 days ago
[RTX 4070 SUPER , AMD 7 5800X, 32GB 3200MHZ RAM]
In the first day everything was fine, FG etc. etc. but now somehow im getting all the time extreme flickering… I tryed everything out, and nothing helped.
I play at 4k 60hz med-high-ultra mix graph.
The flickering comes rly random, sometimes after hours, but today after starting game was like 15m …
What can i do to fix this issue?

I updated the latest drivers for my GPU (4070 super) and CPU (7800x3d) and that seemed to fix the problem. I am very happy with the amount of frames I’m getting and I hope this fixes your guys’ problems.
I turned “frame generation” off from within the game settings and that seemed to work although 5 mins I later got a crash. It only seemed to happen for me at Dubai airport though. I’ve not experienced the flickering anywhere else when turned on.
Hey I have the same graphics card but having updated the driver it made no difference. I have i7 10700K. Not sure where I’m going wrong. My TLOD and OLOD are only 100…

This solved my flickering problem. Updated to the latest DLL file via DLSS Swapper.
Thank you for your help
Frame generation requires a few steps to set things up correctly:
- Ensure [Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling]
- Launch your game and [disable vertical sync]
This will result in screen tearing. To restore vertical sync and keep frame generation working properly, open Nvidia Control Panel, navigate to “Manage 3D settings”, and enable “Vertical sync” for your specific game.
This also happens in 2020 and other games.. how do people not know what it is??? This happens when you’re VRAM is full with frame gen on. lower your LOD sliders and turn the “textures” setting to medium. also turn off raytraced shadows. raytraced shadows and and textures at high or above take up an entire GB of VRAM each.
I have V-sync disabled (both in game an NVCP) and have no tearing, but I have a G-Sync monitor.
Dealing with this issue all day! A matter of fact this is the worse I’ve seen 2024 perform. Prior to SU1 the game ran way better on my system.
Specs: (AMD 5800X3D RTX4080Super 32GB 3440x1440)
Audio stuttering, frame gen flickering. What do I do? I’m considering pausing this sim until SU2!

I have the same video card as you and I had the same problems.
I solved it using the 566.36 driver and using the chipset driver from the motherboard manufacturer.
also the latest bios updates could help
I’m using that exact driver right now and I’m pretty sure my bios is up to date.
It’s definitely the game itself because else runs just fine.
