Extreme lag on PC version and VR version

I have flight simulator on the microsoft store using gamepass. My PC specs are: 16Gb ram, rtx 2060 6Gb, ryzen 7 3750H. I set the game to max performance in nvidia control panel, adjusted my oculus debug tool and set the in-game graphics to lowest possible. I ran it in VR and… -200% headroom, 20fps and constant freezing. I decided to try the PC version instead and I have very low fps again. I checked system usage while playing and everytime I had a lag spike my cpu usage dropped from 75% to 20%. Would the steam version run better? I’m just very confused now, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Don’t use the nvidia control panel. It breaks more than it fixes. Reset to default on all and only do your setting changes in-game

No. Both run the same graphics engine.

How? Which hardware? What settings? Have you noticed the in-game menu has separate VR and non-vr graphic settings?

Oculus quest 2 with an anker link cable. I set the VR settings on flight simulator to lowest possible and the pc settings. I’ll test it again now that the nvidia control panel has restored the flight sim settings.

I’m back from my flight after resseting nvidia settings for flight sim. Good news, I was able to press start flying. Bad news, I had 20fps and it ended by freezing then the plane crashed :/. In VR btw.

You have quite low specs honestly, that‘s a pretty old CPU and around the minimum of RAM. But 20 FPS at low settings is suspicious, all above with a VR headset plugged in.

Just an idea but go to your computer sound settings and check if NVIDIA HD Sound is turned on. If yes turn it off and route your sound through the normal drivers.
