Extremely low FPS when flying low enough

I’m not exactly sure whether to call this an issue or not, but it’s been affecting me for a while.
If I fly ANYWHERE that isn’t completely rural, at an altitude less than around 500 ft (mostly on approaches), my FPS drops to around 2fps - 1 frame every 5-10 seconds. This means I can only fly into very rural airports, and commercial flying into big airports is impossible. Sometimes I’ve have the sim just freeze for about 30 seconds because it’s so slow.

Just earlier today I was flying into one of the local airports around Miami, and from when I had the airport in sight, to after I touched down, my average frame rate was probably around 1 frame every 3 seconds.

My settings aren’t running very high either, just standard medium settings, which is what the sim recommended for my PC.

Anyone know what could be causing this? It’s making the sim practically unplayable for anything other than bush flying.

Let’s start with your PC specifications?

Is the fps issue occuring after update? If so, check Nvdia settings. Same thing happened to mine, dropped from 30 fps to 10 fps (4k resolution).
Nvdia GeForce experience screws up the settings by ‘optimising’ it. Check settings in Nvdia control panel also.
