I am getting a regular “Failed to read from file” (I mean it is almost every time I use this simulator now…) Almost every flight I get to the finals and this little thing pops up and crashes the whole game… What is going on and why is this happening??
I was away on holiday, the day of the latest update and when I got back, I had problems with the A32nx with the CTD with the tug, I had problems with anything to do with my airport that I created Auckland airport and what has usually been a very seamless experience apart from the “odd…” CTD everything has been good.
The most common and most frustrating one I have been getting “Failed to read from file” especially happening on approach… Right now is the perfect example of a 3 hour flight from Auckland to Sydney… I had just purchased the Sydney airport and I have the mod for the 787.
Hence why it is the most frustrating CTD!!!
So I purchased the Sydney airport last night from market place and tried a flight and “failed to read from file” CTD thought of just another annoying “failed to read from file” I have been getting quite often… Flight from Auckland to Sydney… happened again and decided to just take off from Sydney no flight plan and “Failed to read from file…”
What is the cause of this…??
I do have MSFS on a SSD and linked the community folder to another bigger drive due to size along time ago but no problems at all… Is there now an issue with this or is there an issue with Sydney airport itself… and just in general… What is the “Failed to read from file” all about for futures sake
Maybe check your Event Viewer and see if there’s any additional information regarding the faulting module.
Chances are its an addon scenery fault ( ie your recent Sydney Airport addon )
I have found where the faults come up on event viewer, what do I do with that information and how do I read it exactly and fix things regarding msfs for future sakes and regarding the Sydney airport I got from market place on the actual game, how do I get it working
I have CTD every flight now.Flew EGAC / EGKK 6 times resulting in CTD 25 minutes into the flight, same point everytime. Removed add on scenery from the last 2 weeks also but still the same. Game is perfect up until this point.Running A32NX on stable and dev mode. This CTD only happened after latest MSFS / A32NX update.
I got this error when trying to install an update to the Wycombe Air Park scenery by Pilot Plus.
I deleted the folder “pilotplus-airport-egtb-wycombeairpark”, and was able to update it, with no errors. I’m guessing in some situations a file gets locked, and the sim can’t deal with this. It’s an easy workaround, and probably needs to be reported to Zendesk.
A similar scenario occured with the Carenado Seminole, but this didn’t result in a crash, just a failed update. The workaround was the same, close sim, delete folder, redownload scenery/aircraft.
