Looks fun. This is pure VOR correct? Or did they add a makeshift GPS option?

There looked to be an INS in the cockpit ss preview. Which iirc is in line one of the updates thr 707 did get, thoigh a super early version. Hopefully its that and not some jank gns AP

Manual has already been uploaded: Aircraft Manuals - Microsoft Flight Simulator

It would appear to have a GNS 530 unit.

Thats… sigh to be expected. I dont know why i had any hope it would have INS at all.

Can’t be entirely sure as I’m still downloading it, but the manual refers to GNS GPS so I’m putting 2 and 2 together.

Doesn’t seem to have any wingflex…

That touchdown was pretty hard and the whole plane looks like it is one rigid body.

The engine sound is very disappointing. At first I thought my headphones were defective. The sound of the engines is very quiet and sounds more like they are electric engines. When I think about the sound of the Fokker F100, even though it only has 2 small engines… Very disappointing, I hope this will be improved quickly.

My optimism went away the moment I saw a Garmin in it.

Plus you can’t walk into the cabin! I thought we was past this non sense.

Manual says:

(Currently the INS is unavailable but will be installed in later updates)

Strange because the documentation suggests there is an FMS and INS. Says there is a separate manual for the INS, yet the separate manual just refers to the GNS GPS. INS must have got pulled, unless there is a switchable option somewhere?

This is disappointing. They couldve just kept it in the oven longer until the ins was ready. A classic plane like this. That to my knowledge never used a gns EVER. Is disappointing idc if its 15 bucks this is a literal legend lf an aircraft that revolutionized air travel so that it is what it is today. Its sad to see it wasnt developed with the respect and dedication it truly deserves.

Well, fired her up at the Boeing plant in Seattle. First inoression is pretty… well, meh. It is a $10 airplane to be sure. Will it scratch the itch? For now until more serious options come along.
These are super first impressions and observations.
The model is very simple. Looks proportionally correct, but simple. I can hear the APU but not sure where to find it, lol.
Was able to get the engines fired up (thanks to my experience with the FSS 727). Sounds are not what i had hoped. Engines don’t have that throaty roar these old planes had.
Cockpit looks fine. Didn’t look too close but it passes my first inspection.
The nose wheel wasn’t turning while i taxied around and something is not right with the rudder pedals and my setup.

Update: Rudder pedals now working as expected, toe brakes too. Must have been something on my end that a reboot fixed.

That’s it for my first 60 seconds with the AH 707 so far. Very much looking forward to seeing the updates and watching this aircraft improve. Now I have to get back to work!

Update:
Had a chance to do a quick hop from KJFK to KLGA. Didnt have the same issue steering as i did in my first flight (see above. )

I was able to get into the air without issue. Not sure what was going on but it appears that closing MSFS and going back in remedied the handling issue i mentioned above.

The handling is very mushy, but i have noting to reference so i will defer to the 707 pilots to evaluate that. Seems odd to me though as i imagined the plane would be heavier on the controls.
Rudder is SUPER effective.

When reversing engines 1, 2, and 4, the middle of the engine covers also slide back a bit leaving a small gap behind the front most part of the nacelle. The rear most portion of the engine slides back more as expected. On engine 3, only the rear most part moves like the others with the middle part remaining stationary. Not sure if that is intended or not.

Everytime i right click and drag to look around the cockpit the exterior lights go out as long as the right mouse button is held down. The PMDG also shows a weird right mouse click behavior so i don’t know what is wrong with my assignments but it is annoying!

I have also noticed that the wing light seems to always be on regardless of switch position.

Once I get the chance to read through the manual I will decide which of these behaviors are bugs vs. my incomplete knowledge.

That’s it for now.

Is it bad that I spotted a typo (missing word) immediately in the manual screenshot above? Sigh indeed,

Yikes… at least put the default FMS there. It would be realistic for a 707 flying today to have a FMS, not a GNS530.

Hi everyone. Now I join you all to say AH make very bad airplanes. The engines are HORRIBLE, they don’t even look like JT3D engines at all, the sound is disgusting, no interior cabin, the cockpit looks horrible to, not FS2020 level ! We waited 2/12 months for that ! Plane like this make really FS2020 like a game not a simulator. I just lost $12. My note 1/10

Was this a FSX port? It is really not worth the wait we had for her.

All of Aeroplane Heaven’s aircraft look like that.
