With the Darkstar not available in MSFS 2024, what is the fastest aircraft available in MSFS 2024 that is still “good to fly”?
By “good to fly” I mean that the controls work reasonably well. For example, I have two Eurofighter Typoons - one from CJ that the controls work reasonably well. I have another from Breedok that I’d say falls short in controllability, so I rarely fly it.
Would one of the Top Machs be a contender, or would you recommend anything else? Does anything approach Mach 3? Bonus if it has some type of autopilot that actually works in MSFS 2024.
I do miss the Darkstar. I’d take an SR-71 Blackbird that was available on older MSFS 2000-2004, but that hasn’t surfaced in MSFS 2024, so I’d like to see what is out there from simmers who have used them.
Yes, I would say the F22 or the YF-23 would be the fastest planes. Also, it looks like the F14 is faster than both of them and the the IndiaFoxEcho/heatblur is a favorite for fighter jets.
Miltech M2K-C Mirage is a great flyer that doesn’t hang around.

“M2K-C is powered by a single engine providing 54.0 kN Thrust, with a single-stage Afterburner boosting the aircraft to 84 kN (19,000 Lbf). Maximum speed is Mach 2.2 at 60,000 ft, and a range of roughly 850 Nautical Miles, which can be extended with external tanks.”
Either MiG 25 for high altitude M2.65+ or F15C for the win. Modern planes are no where near as fast, they both outrun the F14 with ease ( except IFE F14 has no modelled drag which means it cheats).
