As much as this game is frustrating the hell out of me…
As much as it drives me totally crazy that my gtx1060 desktop is smoking the performance of my 2070 laptop…
As much as all the aircraft control bugs, garmin issues, autopilot ■■■■ etc kills me…
Every time I’m ready to give up and walk away until they patch it a few times, I have a nice enjoyable flight.
My favorite aircraft has to be the DA62 right now. Good performance but still feels like a prop plane. Usable autopilot/garmin. 2nd place would probably be the non garmin Cessna 172 just for nostalgia purposes. 3rd a tie between the tbm930 and the longitude. The longitude takes the CJ4 and just makes it better across the board.
I find myself just throwing on the autopilot and watching the external camera in high settings…
What’s YOUR favorite aircraft and why?

@Jumboag99 I love the A320 Neo because of the newer tech. also to me it has the easiest FMC and autopilot and I love how you can land it at London city but you can also land it at Tokyo Hadena airport so you can land/depart it like at a lot of places wich means more routes unlike a 747-8 where you need 10,000 feet to takeoff and 7,500 feet to land. the a320 neo is not my favorite it is just my favorite one in the sim.
I have opted to stay in the low and slow. Mostly flying the 152 to get rock solid on the sim’s flight characteristics. That really makes it easy to tell if updates are actually working. (mixed results on update)
I would certainly encourage others to find their favorite aircraft and learn all you can about it.
Right now its also the DA62. At first I thought it was “dumbed down” a bit for the sim but reading up on it, starting the engines really is as easy as switching on fuel, engine master and hitting “start”.
For anyone wanting to learn more this is a great introductory article on the real thing:
TBM 930, we’re inseparable!
Honorable mention, Caravan and C172.
Can’t wait until the G3000 is fully modeled and working.

The 152 is solid. I like the non-garmin 172 just for the primitive autopilot to keep you level while you tinker with the knobs, but if I only had the base game I’d definitely have that plane near the top of the list for the exact reasons you cite.
Before I overpaid for the prem deluxe version, the 930 was my go-to as well. That slots been somewhat replaced with the longitude but its a solid model.
of the big boys, I do enjoy the a320 for the role play aspect of it. Try the flybywire mod if you havent already found it. Makes the 320 even cooler to play with. If the 747 autopilot didnt dance like a yo-yo I’d give it higher marks just for the distance it can go.
The Longitude is a beast irl. How’s the G5000? Also incomplete?
ok, i will try that. I do agree I don’t like the 747 autopilot in this sim its so annoying.
Grand Caravan is my go to with 90% of my flight time so far in it, then the steam guage C172. Done one 2 hr flight in the A320 and a handful of quick circuit flights in some of the other GA’s just to see what they’re like. A lot of GA aircraft from havn’t even made it out of the hanger yet.
Yeah same here, I barely touched the other planes. I was excited about the A320 but we all know how that went.
Yesterday I randomly picked one of the Diamonds for a ride and was pleasantly surprised! There’s so much to try in MSFS, and that’s just the stock planes… imagine in a few years when the 3rd party stuff is out there. Great times ahead!

Currently I think most of my hours are still in the C208. That would change if the Longitude’s fuel issue is fixed next patch - I love that thing, but it’s just not quite there yet. I’ve also been enjoying some time in the TBM.
Having a lot of fun flying the Cessna 152 in the Nevada bush trip. A joy to fly low when she’s trimmed for level flight. DA62 and Bonanza are a close 2nd. Starting to get a feel for the 172 without the Garmin avionics again as it has been a good 20 years since I’ve flown one in a sim.
Haven’t tried all of them yet, but I’ve gravitated towards the TBM 930 (has the speed and range for longer flights and can land at smaller airfields, great all-rounder). Really like the DA62 (nice to fly and it’s a great looking plane, too). I’ve got the standard edition, so only a choice of two on the airliners - much prefer the Airbus to the 747.
Special mention for the Icon A5, which is just huge fun - especially if you’re island hopping.
I have not tried any of the jet planes. My interest is in GA VFR. I’ve tried every prop plane they have, several times. Even bought the C182 in the market place. I keep going back to the Cirrus SR22. Especially flying with a joystick. I love that plane.
Definitely usable but missing several items. Completeness wise probably on par with the TBM.
Still deciding on the models that come with the current game.
Anxiously waiting for Aerosoft Twin Otter (they have to rework the whole thing) but it appears confirmed in their roadmap.
C152, C172 and the C208 are my favourites. Mostly been piloting the C208. Love that aircraft, looking forward to it maturing with updates.
