FBW A320 always defaults to KGS?

Is there some way to get the FBW A320 to remember to use LBS? I change the setting from KGS to LBS in the MCDU options and it works for the flight but always reverts back. What am I missing?

Check your units from your general settings, make sure they’re US format and not Metric or Hybrid.

Main settings are US format…

Ahh then… I have no idea… I’m on hybrid…

I just started using the A32NX available through MSFS. I have the same issue when I change to kgs to lbs. I get a message in mcdu that the aircraft must be reloaded. Does that mean back to main menu or Restart?

Have u found any solution to keeping it on lbs.?

Back to main reloads it for me. But, I find that it goes back to KGS each time I install a new version of the FBW aircraft.

Noticing that the flypad options- switching from KGS to LBS has no effect on the displays or the flypad itself. It is not clear if we must reload the aircraft, or restart the sim?

u have to change to lbs in the MCDU then restart. Go into the AOC menu of the MCDU to change it. FYI, I am using the Development version, but should stick in the stable as well.

I find I have to reset it on the MCDU more frequently than I would expect. Think some FBW updates reset this setting back to KGS.

This problem seems to be back with a vengeance. Now, I can’t get the FBW (FlightPad or MCDU) to accept pounds at all. The MCDU constantly reverts back to KGS (even after a re-load) and won’t accept the fuel weights out of Simbrief that are generated using LBS.

Frustrating.

It’s hinting you to embrace the superior unit of measurement…

Could be but frustrating nonetheless… To your point the FBW folks must not be using or they would find this problem immediately.

I guess it’s just as frustrating for metric-oriented people to travel into the US where everything is imperial. But I get what you mean, it should be configurable to have people use different units that they’re comfortable with.

But coming back to the aircraft itself. I’m not sure if the Airbus itself “can” be configured to handle imperial or metric units. I’m under the impression that other than for altitude, everything is standardised to use metric in everything else. But I’m not a pilot nor Airbus engineer, so I can’t answer that.

If that was the case I would agree. Problem is the FBW model lets you choose metric vs us. It is just that US does not work.
