FBW A320n Losing FPS on reverse thrust

I use the development version, and of late everything is working extremely well. Recently I have encountered a glitch in that when you engage reverse thrust I lose my FPS and it drops way down. When I disengage reverse thrust, the FPS jumps back up. It makes me wonder if the sound files for reverse are causing this. Has anyone else encountered this, or is it just me? Any feedback will be appreciated.

I haven’t been getting this problem myself. Do you think it’s a coincidence that you happen to lose FPS because the sim is trying to render more details when you land.

Have you tested the same approach but upon landing you don’t engage the reverse thrust, see if the FPS drop still happened.

It might be worth checking that the key/button you have binded for the reversers isn’t binded to anything else.

I only get this with the FBW A320, not with other aircraft. I have also thoroughly made sure my key bindings are clean, one of the first things I did with this sim early on. I’ll keep testing it.

Very odd. I just done a flight there with the latest Dev version. Landed at Glasgow, absolutely no issues when using the reversers on touchdown.

Good to know. Okay, then, it must be one of my settings. Normally this package performs really well for me. Recently I have been experimenting with Nvidia Vsync on and off, that could be a factor.

For what it’s worth I don’t use VSync. It’s always disabled in the sim. Probably worth disabling it and giving it a go?

I also tend to disable GSync, though that’s purely because it just isn’t beneficial in MSFS, not because it causes issues (it is hardware-based afterall).

Finally traced the problem of losing FPS on reverse thrust to VSync being on. I was trying it out by having it on in the NCP and it works really well for GA aircraft, but it holds the FBW A320 back some, so now I turn it off when using the FBW A320.

Or you can just override it in your Nvidia Control Panel (or something similar) and force to use the Fast VSync. It’s technically the same as VSync off, but on higher FPS, it drops the excess frame eliminating tearing while minimising lag.

Doesn’t Fast VSync conflict with my already using GSync?

If you’re using GSync, there is absolutely no need to use VSync at all.

The idea of GSync is to have the benefits of VSync, without the latency. That only really matters in fast-paced games like first-person shooters though.

I personally recommend turning off GSync when using MSFS. You’ll find your mouse cursor moves a lot smoother too in the sim.

Well you never said you use GSync, so I just assumed you don’t have it especially since you said you use VSync.

I do use GSync. It seems okay, I can’t fault it .
