FBW A320NX: Autopilot/Auto Throttle Problems

Maybe you have some drift or jitter on your throttle axis that bumps it out of CLB. That’s proven to be a factor for some people. You can mitigate this (I think) a little when you calibrate the throttles. (As you are supposed to. You did calibrate the throttles, right?)

Yes, throttle calibrated in accordance with instructions. Thanks for the suggestion but I’m pretty sure it’s not jumping out - well not visually anyway.

It only needs to move a slight amount to mess you up. When you see the problem, look at your PFD and record what the AP is reporting for your throttle status. Does it say “SPD” or something else?

I’ve seen a message that the throttle is not in the detent whilst in cruise but it didn’t affect the AP. I’ll look out for that, try and get a screenshot as well. I’ll also re-calibrate the throttle in case SU8 has messed it up.

See that’s a problem. Your throttle should never not be in the detent during cruise. If you’ve seen that, then something happened to move your throttle. Probably some slight movement of your hardware that is not obvious. You might need a new throttle hardware.

when I fly the A320nx, my throttle stays in the climb detent the entire flight until I manually retard it at touchdown.
