Description:
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 offers an incredible depth of settings, which are highly convenient due to cloud synchronization. However, depending on how a simmer uses the simulator for a specific session, the ideal configuration changes drastically.
Currently, users have to manually tweak dozens of options back and forth when switching between entirely different flying styles.
The Problem:
Different flight scenarios require completely contradictory global setups. For example:
Airliner Operations (with custom ATC & external traffic injectors): Requires internal ATC turned off, specific graphics settings to handle heavy airports, and external traffic sliders set to zero to avoid conflicts with injectors like FSLTL or BeyondATC.
Group Flights / VFR: Requires multiplayer turned on, standard nameplates enabled, and different graphic priorities.
Low-End Performance / VR: Requires quick switching of graphic and LOD baselines.
Manually changing these options every time is tedious and prone to configuration errors.
Proposed Solution:
Introduce “Global Settings Profiles” (or “Sim States”) that allow players to save and load their entire configuration with a single click.
Profile Saving: A snapshot of all current settings (Graphics, Traffic, Assistance, Sound, and Data) can be saved under a custom name (e.g., “Airliner Online”, “VFR Group Flight”, “VR Mode”).
Cloud Sync: These profiles should be saved to the cloud, just like the current single configuration is.
Quick Switch: An option in the main menu (or even a prompt during simulator startup) to select the desired profile for the upcoming session.
This quality-of-life feature would greatly enhance the user experience for everyone who uses MSFS 2024 for more than just one specific type of flying.
