February 2nd, 2023 Development Update Discussion

I was pleased to see that Jorg in the livestream was weighing whether it may make sense to start prioritizing high-quality content in the MP approval process vs. shovelware and low-quality cash grabs. Hoping that we may see progress on that this year.

Since the update flying in aircraft at low level everything is very slow. I’m flying at 450knots but looks like I’m flying at 200 and when over land I just generally feel slow. The other thing is formation flying all Xbox users jump around when in close proximity. Can you please look into this? It’s only happened since this update

Hello again @Red81Trekker,

Following-up on this question. Our team is aware of the issue, and it’s logged in our internal bug-tracking tool. We’re working on a fix for the Bravo LEDs on Xbox, but I don’t have an ETA I can share at this time.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

@SeedyL3205 (I know it’s a no-no to ping you…) Thank you very much for your attentiveness in this thread. It’s noticeable and very, very very, much appreciated and valued!

When you CMs get involved it really makes a difference around here.

Thanks, again.

When’s the summary/abstract of the dev stream coming out?

The VOD is available on YouTube now (linked in the Dev Blog above). The written transcript is created by one of our volunteer community moderators (shout-out to @N316TS, the real MVP <3), and it typically takes a few days.

Thanks,

Awesome, looking forward to the written transcript as I’m on the road a lot more lately but excited to see all the changes that are coming up.

Thanks, @N316TS!

If you want the transcript sooner, you can typically get it straight away from YT. Press the ellipses button, and the transcript option should be there.

Downside is it just shows time stamps as it doesn’t know who’s talking.

Another downside: It gets a lot wrong. Definitely better than not having it, but especially with aviation terms and accents from around the world, it sometimes has a hard time.

This may or may not be one for the Mods, the link for the ’ Click here for the web-friendly version of the Development Roadmap.’

The link goes to an old version.

Thanks! I’ll escalate this. I actually think that’s the right link, but the page hasn’t been updated. We’ll sort it out!

The weird thing is that seemingly not everybody waits. Some developers have their packs released almost in a weekly fashion. Some content was released merely weeks after a given aircraft was included in the sim, while other developers’ products haven’t been available ever since. Following all of them makes a strange pattern form, that’s why the holdback of some sticks out.

i can’t access the page (url)

Yes, there’s a problem with that website that just started. All the Development Updates are giving a 404 error on port 80 (when it should probably be port 443). I’ve notified the team involved to look at it.

EDIT: Has been fixed.

Could be a certificate/SSL issue. :man_shrugging:
It’s the weekend so not sure how soon that will be resolved.

Oh no Asobo and Microsoft shutdown MSFS and ran. Just kidding.
