I would love to see the following and believe they are both low hanging fruit, and very compelling adds for a wide range of people:
-
Custom waypoints via both address and/or coordinates
-
Standard maps integration (Bing, not just VFR). Bing maps standard search field to create a custom waypoint for landmarks, address, etc. Allow these to highlight in game world as a point of interest, and also on VFR/Bing map overlay. Ability to switch between VFR flight map and a standard road map (like you’d see using bing online) to allow more casual players to navigate and explore with ease.
-
Ability on world map to skip take off and have a hot start mid air at any point on the world map. Set altitude and coordinates and just load in right there.
-
Ability to set altitude + location via a map and teleport instantly. Helpful if you crash and just want to get back to 2000ft, or if you want to just jump forward to a specific place
-
Control stick highlight on button press like xplane, can be very hard to tell what button is what on a complex flight stick setup. As well, option for in game hud to show a graphic of which device with the button highlighted next to instructions (rather than just “joystick button 9”)
-
Bind sim rate up/down to a single key (not just a modifier)
-
Button to reset sim rate to real-time. On screen display with 1x/2x/4x etc to show current simrate speed.
-
Ability to change not just weather, but date (including year), during flying (ie shift from August to December and watch sun rotate position, and different sunrise/sunset times).
Thanks for the consideration. Besides being such a great flight sim, the program is unsurpassed as a way to scout and explore the world, so better map/waypoint support, plane positioning, and sim rate speed tools would be very welcome.
