I saw this was mentioned in the discord server. I decided to do my own test and couldn’t believe it.
On a bright clear day lined up on the runway and plane systems loaded up, I’m getting steady 48 FPS looking straight down the runway. The moment I turn on Landing Lights and Taxi/TO Lights and look down to the runway view again, it takes away 6 FPS. So I go from 48 FPS to 42 FPS just by turning on those lights. Turn them off and go back to 48 FPS.
Can anybody else post if the same happens to you?
Can’t believe something as landing lights would have so much performance impact on fps.
I should be in the air with it shortly. I’ll report back.
Just tested this on my system, RTX 2080Ti. 1080p res with render scaling at 200 (3840 x 2160)
All settings as high as they can be set. On the runway with no lights, 35FPS… drops to 29FPS when lights are on… Yeah, weird… Hadn’t noticed it before…
There was no change for me.
When you turned them on, did you change your view back to pilot view/runway view?
Tried the MD-82 since it has so many lights to turn on and off, no change.
Yep. No change.
I did, however, find another issue that needs to be patched ASAP. Opening and closing Navigraph from inside of the sim will give you the memory error every time. Use the EFB version only.
