Final 2020 version?

I got a small update today to version 1.32.8.0. When I looked at the release notes it said essentially “Thanks for being a part of the MSFS 2020 journey. It has been a pleasure to have you on board.” It sounded to me like this was the final update for MSFS 2020. I thought though that there were some future updates still on the roadmap. Not sure what is going on here.

haha … so sort of a " thanks for coming along for the crazy ride, it was good while it lasted" sort of message .

Now you are spooked… reading to much into it. lol

Hello @GlitteryGecko5,

There was no 1.32.8.0 update released today. The current live build is 1.32.7.0.

There was a new beta build released earlier (1.33.8.0) to players who have opted in to participate in the pre-release test. I confirmed with our Test Lead that there was no message like you described included in the release notes for this test build.

In any case, the upcoming Aircraft & Avionics Update 2 is not the last release for Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020). As we announced in our recent FAQ post, we have committed to several more releases on the roadmap.

What kind of support can Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) players expect to see once Flight Simulator 2024 has been released?

We will continue to deliver our Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) Roadmap which has content ranging from Aircraft and Avionics Updates, Sim Updates, City and World Updates, and also the free Dune DLC. We will continue to support Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) post the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 launch.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Ok. Sorry Seedy. I am in the beta flight and it was 1.33.8.0 but I am quite sure that when I clicked on the release notes button when it was updating, that is the message I got. I am not making it up!

is this what you are talking about?

Ah, okay, I just received some more information from our Test Lead.

The screenshot @DA40CGDFQ posted is the default text when no Release Notes are included in a new build. Today’s 1.33.8.0 beta build didn’t have release notes in the sim (but you can read them here on the forums), so it defaulted to displaying this message. This is just an unfortunate case of poor timing, and I can see why this might cause confusion and anxiety given the recent announcement of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024!

Our apologies for this, and when the final AAU_2 build is released to all players, we’ll ensure it includes the full release notes so this message isn’t displayed. And to repeat myself: AAU_02 will not be the final version of Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020). We still have several more planned releases on the roadmap!

Thanks,
MSFS Team

Yes. That’s the page that I saw when I clicked on Release Notes.

You and your facts!
Ruined at least a 500-post speculative thread on the ‘early demise of MSFS2020’ before the end of the day…

It’s like the wildfire season around here…the smallest spark can start another 2024 conspiracy thread!

Oh god, that looks like a farewell message to 2020. Don’t let others see that in the forums or reddit. Seriously.

Hey, I just bought this thing , don’t tell me about its demise!

Perhaps they should change that default page. Even without 2024 on the horizon, folks would have a heart attack!
