Same thing happens to me. It’s still July 4th here in Michigan, but when I click Real Time, it changes
to July 5th…
I believe “Live time” is UTC, not local time. It’s already July 5 in UTC-land.
Asobo set fireworks to July 3rd by local time, so the bugged weather/day popup window would show 4th. Despite the fact that window shows date at UTC line not the local one. That’s why “real time” won’t work.
Wasn’t initially working but then realized I didn’t have the Texas update installed.
Picture is over the Golden Gate bridge. Happy 4th!
Fireworks? Tried Washington DC and New York. Tried 3 and 4 july, 21:00 hrs, 21:30 hrs and 22:00 hrs local time. But “no joy!” NO fireworks for me
On the positive side: flying in the night above New York is fun.
Also, note :
-
4th July in the USA (Independence Day)
-
5th November in the UK (Guy-Fawkes-Day)
Do you have the Texas update installed? I don’t know if that matters, but it fixed the problem for user xxSTEW21xx.
No, I have not. Must conserve disk space. Thanks for your answer.
The fireworks are part of the Texas City Update, so without that installed, no fireworks.
I hope we get fireworks all over the world at New Year. Would be fun to fly round in Concorde watching them go off with the timezones.
so if you want to see the fireworks again what can you do?
Assuming that you have the Texas City Update installed, just change your local time to 10 PM on July 4.
Make sure you have the Texas update.
Set the in-game date to July 4 and time to about 10:00pm.
Fly someplace where fireworks are available. (I used New York)
If you’re on pc you can do that already. There’s an add-on for that
Had a good time flying around the fireworks. West of Chicago looks pretty amazing. The city of Chicago itself didn’t have any unfortunately, nor did Milwaukee, but the suburbs do.
After several attempts horsing around with the time and date on the World Map screen that brought no fireworks on my flights, I tried spawning on the runway and THEN changing the date and time to July 4, 2023 at 10:00 PM with the Weather toolbar button, and - Voila! Fireworks!
In general, I find how the sim handles time of day very confusing when I’m setting up a flight. And it seems to me the logbook credits daytime or nighttime takeoffs and landings based on UTC day and night rather than local (in the sim) day and night.
Wishlist request:
thanks for nothing, addon have allready existed for at least a year on fligtsim.to
my two cents
Tero
Considering Xbox users don’t have access to flightsim.to, guess it wasn’t meant for you.
