I 'm not sure if it was around for much longer. But yesterday I went from Barcelona to lisbon at 33000 ft [daytime] and there was a beautiful contrail below me. It looked quite far below, but I never saw this before. It was very realistic.
the only thing I notice with traffic is the lights blinking, but no contrails. I had just set the traffic up above 60% as the world seemed pretty empty before.
I hope one day they actually tie it into the weather system so you get a persistent and evolving cirrus cloud rather than just an effect that travels with the aircraft for a limited range. But they do look nice I will agree. I saw my first ones earlier this month flying high over UK airspace. You also don’t really see them if you’re below 10,000 feet - at least I never have as that’s where I do most of my flying. Maybe I just don’t look up enough but I think it might also be a range thing
