[FIXED] All non-player simobject xml code broken (vehicle, windsock, animation, visibility, emissivity)

I’m facing the same

I think this is the same issue reported here:

https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/fsltl-animations-broken-of-ai-airplanes/614682?u=umberto67

So, it’s not really as “GSX animations” or “FSLTL animation” are currently broken in SU14 but, any Simobject animation, in general.

yep same here

How did they manage to roll out a beta and not seeing a thing such big as this.

Because Asobo never tests with 3rd party addons, clearly. Hope it gets fixed soon.

Yeah! That always bothers me too! Asobo promotes 3rd party development! Without them this game will die very quickly! So you would think they test for some of the basic things such as AI working, contrails, GSX, etc. but nope! It’s a hard job but come on, it’s kind of embarrassing when we all notice these issues on the first hour or do of the release and they don’t with days working on the updates!

Asobo has not released SU14 yet; it is in Beta testing.

It would be impossible for the relatively small team of testers at Asobo to test the thousands of addons available. It would also take an enormous amount of time for the small team to fully test the sim. So they ask for community volunteers to download the Beta Version and help with testing. When you participate in the Beta you have volunteered to test unreleased software and report any bugs found.

So, Asobo clearly tests 3rd party software using the volunteer Beta testers. And it has worked, a bug has been found that can be fixed before release.

I’m quite sure you’re right. On the other hand, MSFS has an API for simobjects and any good development team will write a decent set of testcases for any external API as that is the best way to validate changes to the API and prevent unexpected regressions.

The two statements: that beta testers shouldn’t be surprised by or complain about breakages (but definitely report!); and that breakages like this really should have been caught internally by the dev team; these are not mutually exclusive and can both be true at the same time.

because it is disabled by Asobo - it is not working by design at the moment

Well, not exactly. According to the Beta release notes posted in the forum, this should have affected animations on Multiplayer aircraft only.

Instead, it affects any non-user Simobject even locally, which suggests that either the Beta release notes are not completely accurate, or it’s an unintended side-effect.

they use all the same system, so i guess it is just a missing information in the ChangeLog

No need to check third party, their own AI planes would have the same issue!

I cant even see my other 3rd Party aircraft, PMDG 737-800 etc.

same issue

Revert to the mainline release version; or wait for a fix in a future SU14 Beta build.

I tried to revert back, but it for GSX it stays the same… So looks like there is no full move back… any idea or similar experience ?

The object animation of GSX cannot run correctly in SU14, such as the walking animation of ground people, the tires of trailers, the display screen of guided vehicles, and the animation of bridges. Objects are displayed at a limit position in the game.
