First the download got stuck on 51% (1.35 of 2.41 Gb downloaded)
I have 1000 Mb/s download speed connection at home. After waiting for half an hour. I restarted the download and found that I got stuck at the same file 2% (23.84 MB of remaining 1.27 Gb)
It looks like there is some issue with pc-fs-base-bigfiles-0.1.75.fspatch file.
I have the same problem.
How can I prevent the update from happening for several days?
In the meantime, I’m interested in playing with the current situation.
I think it could be a temporary server load on the MS side, as it’s not installing problem - it’s download. Therefore as soon as it is relieved the download will proceed. It’s just my guess.
The download restarted itself. It seems to be fixed now.

I had a similar problem not very far into the download. I paused the download. Since I was running in WINDOWED mode after the prerequisite MS Store update, I clicked the X close button on MSFS. Rebooted the computer (in part because it was Patch Tuesday and lost track of reboots/installs…). After reboot, the download hung in about the same place for 10 to 15 minutes but then resumed and completed reasonably promptly and everything I’ve tested is working nicely in VFR mode - so server load seems a likely culprit.

Nope, not fixed still occurring for me.
It is just extremely slow, so just leave it somewhere on the background.
It actually looks like it’s stuck on pc-fs-base-bigfiles-0.1.73.fspatch. The most I’ve seen it get past was 27% then it goes right back to 0%. Am I missing something here? Is this just how the downloader works?
They have some issue there. First, I thought it’s related to a specific file (for me it was [pc-fs-base-bigfiles-0.1.75.fspatch file). But then after the 2nd attempt and waiting for another 60 minutes (instead of usual 1 or 2 minutes for 2.5 Gb for me) it finally finished downloading. So for us, users, I think, It is just about trying later or put it somwhere on background and check in an hour or two)
Been trying to get past big files fs 1.66.fs patch it downloads upto 7% then goes back to 0% and trys again been doing this for the last 10 hours wtf.
Check if by any chance you reduced the max bandwidth in the data menu in the sim. For me it caused download restarts.
Stuck on pc-fs-base-bigfiles-0.1.59.fspackage right now.
I understand it is a network issue as opposed to me doing something stupid.
It was all working before this last update.
I just quit the program and restarted it. The download restarted from the point it stopped and finished without further issues.
I had the same problem, it was looping for an hour than I restarted the PC and it was working.
After messing around for 3 days Searching all forums… Finally found the solution…Turn Computer offline… Start MSFS2020 offline…Set Data setting to unlimited… Go back online. Restart MSFS2020 Now Downloading perfectly… Hope this helps.
I’ve got the same problem but it’s stuck much earlier at 7.5% on pc-fs-base-bigfiles-0.1.59.fspackage…
This version of FS is turning into a real disaster. I had loading problems with disc 8 initially which was due to a dirty disc. Now I can’t get the patch to download. I bought a brand new HP Omen lap-top to run this on. Looks like it’s back to the Mac and X-Plane. Very disappointed.
As I put on the other thread, after three days and nights it suddenly started to complete the download. Server overload?
I’m trying again now, after a week, and still can’t download, already 12 hours stuck in the same situation.
