When I load the Cessna at an airport and check the flaps lever in the cockpit it is set at 33%. When I lower the flaps it goes down to 66% then goes back to 33%. If I hold down the button the flaps go to 100% then return to 33%. The same happens at start up, the flaps are at 33% and when I retract/raise them they go up to 0% then come back down to 33%.
Can anyone help here I am a newbie and getting very frustrated with this sim.
I have just checked in FSX and it all works as it should, flaps, trim throttle etc.
I think I have found the problem, when I load the Cessna it automatically loads the flaps at 10%. When you get to 500ft you can then raise the flaps and they will work normally.
When starting at the runway instead of cold & dark, sometimes the flaps are configured, sometimes they’re not.
I’m curious if you’ve configured separate buttons for flaps up and down, versus toggle flaps? Toggle (anything) in the sim seems to be hit or miss at times, unless it’s a binary setting like ON/OFF, which works for things like Pitot Heat, or even things like ODI (GPS/LOC1/LOC2). I have separate buttons for flaps up and down, so I know if I hit up three times it doesn’t matter what the configuration was, they are now fully stowed.
Thanks for that CasualClick. I have separate buttons for up and down. It was while sitting in the cockpit and checking flaps I noticed they were already set at 10% and when I tried to move them, up or down they always returned to the 10% position. It was only after taking off a couple of times that I noticed I could then raise the flaps (or lower) after I had taken off the runway.
I will need to stop setting up at the runway and set up the flight from a hard standing.
Looks like some kind of assistance and/or AI copilot is on.
I think it is assistance
