Flew Toronto To My Cottage Lake, AND MY COTTAGE ISN'T THERE!?

Lovin the new FS2020 sim, and my Thrustmaster FS works like a charm, but I got a problem
hoping someone can help…

I flew my icon A5 up to my cottage lake, landed and taxi over to where my cottage is, and ITS NOT THERE! what the heck!!!

:frowning:

*IN satellite and Google Earth Maps…its clear as day IT IS there!)

I’m running the sim on:
HIGH settings
Detail and distance sliders full
Buildings HIGH

etc

Am I missing something…is it a setting maybe?

Any help greatly appreciated in advance…

See you in the skies!

It’s very likely it either was not scooped up by the satellite data, or if it was, the region captured was not a high enough resolution. Over time regions will get updates (every 2 months I think?). So perhaps it will be included in the next iteration of structure data

When was your cottage built? Some of the Bing images used to create the scenery are a few years old.

You have to look at Bing maps, not Google.
Maybe it is covered by clouds, so the AI can’t build it.

thnx mate…lets hope !

it was built in 1969…thnx

hmmm ok never thought of that one…thnx guys!!!

it was disappointing tho…

let me add to this weirdness…

I then flew over to a nearby go kart track I knew was near my cottage… and the track IS THERE!

so doesnt that rule out the clouds idea if I saw it just few mins later(using fixed clear weather btw)

so I dunno, why the only two cottages on our lake, are not in this, but in google earth and more they are! aaarrrggghhh so close!

??

i still love this sim, hats off to all involved

The Toronto ground mesh and area is horrible. Went to my home airport CNC3 and it looked barely better than FSX but its all good, Canada might be less high res imagery so I understand.

Not exactly, there simply may not have been enough data to work from when compiling that specific area. You can see certain areas where the data overlaps and doesn’t quite look right yet. I’m not sure how large your cottage is, it just may not be in a good position (tree coverage for example) to be built by the AI.
