Flickering trees and vegetation with multiple displays

Am in the beta and have flickering only on my sided monitors not on the main one.

I will create a new topic if warranted but with MSFS24, I can’t use the Advanced Options tab to eliminate the two extra render windows. I have to make them windowed manually (Alt-Enter) and actually “X” out the windows instead of the using the options trashcan icon. Is that experienced by any of you? Sorry to hijack the thread (so far) but not too many folks are using multimonitors.

No its not exactly that. Issue is that main monitor is fine but sided monitors have a latency so they stutter while taxiing.

Yes exactly that issue. But some are saying its solved in SU2 others not.

Same here. Flashing scenery, worse on side monitors. Makes 2024 unplayable. 4090 3 2k monitors.

Are you on su2 Beta?

I didn’t sign up for the beta. Does SU2 fix this problem? If so, I’ll go sign up for it. Thanks for the info.

That’s the confusion. It was reported that SU2 fixes this issue, but others using SU2 have said it doesn’t. If you do sign up for SU2, could please report your findings here? Thanks

Yes, the latest SU2 Beta update appears to have fixed this. I have 3 x 4k monitors and the two side ones have flickered grass and trees from the day 2024 was released. But it has definitely stopped with this latest Beta release. I don’t think the very early SU2 betas had it fixed and thats where the confusion may come in, but it def. is now.

• I experience this every day. Flickering trees, grass and always waves that are up close. The flickering only occurs when on the ground or close to ground/sea level. Sometimes it’s just the tops of some trees that flicker. Waves down low always flicker. Using 3 monitor setup. 2560x1440 on 3 identical monitors. I’ve tried setting the two side monitors to 640x480 and turning Waves/Foilage settings to Low and it still occurs. Setup: AMD 7900xtx; 9800X3D, 64 GB 6000 Mhz ram and Gen5 2TB SSD. I’ve tried reducing the three displays in windows to 1024 x 768 and still no change. At this point I believe this has to be FS24 related issue. But I’m open to suggestion on possible fixes. It is rather annoying.

Just installed SU2: Flickering has disappeared. Yeah!

It goes back in SU 3 Beta. Note that I never experienced this in SU2 or SU1. Nicely done Asobo.

Same here with beta 3 :

  • flickering trees when doing very low fly
  • higher trees get smaller when approching them
    (Only 1 display in my rig)

Sim update 2 (SU2) 2024 did fix the flashing scenery problem.

Yes SU2 has fixed this flickering issue…however, now people are reporting SU3 Beta…puts it back again…really?

1.5.1.0 with four screens , 8.05 GB total usage here. I don’t see the scenery flashing that I had in the screens prior to SU2. Looks ok in SU3 Beta as of 5/20/2025.
