Hello there and congratulations on the purchase of the Boeing 247D!
This is a highly advanced simulation of a very old airplane and therefore it takes a bit of study to get the hang of it. Fear not however, you have the option on the clipboard to turn off realistic engine damage and realistic engine start which will make your life a lot easier to begin with 
It is a wonderful plane although it has a few quirks and sadly the developer is missing in action so it is highly unlikely it will get any official updates.
I do not have it installed but you will find the documents in the aircraft folder under Flight Simulator\Official in your install directory. I suggest you read them carefully.
