Flight Simulator User Manuals

Where are the manuals? Surely Microsoft didn"t forget them. When will they be available?

There are no official “user manuals” yet. You can always checkout #guides for community guides on how to learn the world of aviation

You get one with the boxed version

I too am a little disappointed in the lack of documentation. I learned how to fly from the older FS. There is not even a help file telling you how to use anything (like autopilot). And by the way I hate Glass Cockpits…

No. Got the download; premium. If the problems continue like they have for the last 24 hours

A lot of good “Cold and Dark” checklists were built for previous MSFS version planes (versus CTRL-E for autostart). I’d be curious to know if the Virtual Cockpit would actually support them.

Can’t emphasize enough how important manuals are for a lot of serious flightsim enthusiasts. Not just for understanding the settings and control mappings – but also for advanced features and instruments, like GPS systems, autopilots and FMCs.

At least start with the PDF version of what’s to be included in the physical version.

Ideally, make it a link in the game interface that opens up the most up-to-date version of the PDF.

A manual is a must, it comes in the box set it should be available to download with purchase.

I am also diappointed that there are no manuals anymore. If I remember right FSX had pdf manuals for all planes.
But now I use to download the original pilot operating handbooks from the aircraft manufacturers and also the Garmin pdf documentations. These are interesting and you can use the full checklists, but I also noticed that the Garmin devices have not the full functionality in FS2020 yet. I hope later they add more to it.

Yes please provide a downloadable pdf for those of us that purchased a digital copy.

It would be very helpful to have manuals considering there are something north of 100 camera view commands alone. Seems like more than control shortcuts.
Yep, I can get a plane up and down with the dozen controls on the joystick, but there is so much more to flying a sim than that. I handed a flight off to the AI FO so I could check out some controls and clearly they thought we were on a Kamikaze mission; I guess I did something wrong, but no clue. Flight plans, flight computers, sketchy A/P. No clue what exists or if they do, am I using it right.
As much as a manual is important for an aircraft, it is maybe more so for a sim. You can’t visualize the control stack and EFIS like you can sitting in a cockpit. Really need a manual guys.

+1 on at least the manual that comes with the boxed version in downloadable PDF form NOW!

You should move your thread to the Self-Service Wishlist category where it can be upvoted and perhaps just post a general notice in the Community/General Discussion & Feedback with a link to the voting thread. If you can’t change the categories yourself, ask the @moderators for help.

My rant on how the sim needs a manual (Sigh! I feel so much better now that’s out of my system!): :slightly_smiling_face:
