Flight Training #7: Navigation, 5800' ascent elevation issue

Running PC-WIn10 version 1.9.3.0. Attempting Flight Training #7: Navigation.

I am instructed to climb to 5800’ (from a ~4800’ takeoff elevation - Sedona, AZ). For some reason I cannot climb to that elevation. The trainer Cessna plane won’t go faster than about 65-knots, and the highest elevation I can achieve is around 5200’. Any attempt at more lift just causes the plane to beep at me.

Anybody know what I am doing wrong? Or is this a bug?

Maybe lean the fuel mixture (red knob by throttle)?

I agree with Mav. Bring your mixture back some as the higher the altitude the leaner the mixture needs to be. Watch or listen for an RPM boost when you adjust it.

Thanks for the replies. That seemed to do the trick! I have to work that mixture knob a bit to understand it better, but was able to get past my 5200’ elevation block.
