Flightbeam KPDX scenery not loading in anymore

Hello,

I was hoping to get some help with an issue I am all of a sudden experiencing. I have the KPDX by Flightbeam and have never had an issue.

It’s all up to date and installed through the contrail app. I have even tested this in game and it looks and appears fine a few weeks ago.

I loaded in today and realized the airport is the default airport. Although on the world map it still appears to be the payware considering all the added gates/ parking from the recent update.

At first I figured it was uninstalled some how but when I checked it was there. I uninstalled and re installed it and to no avail it still was loading in as the default airport. (Checked content manager and confirmed there is no other PDX installed- only PDX is Flightbeam which appeared in content manger).

All my other payware airports are showing up and working fine when in game. Anyone have an idea what’s causing this or maybe something I could try??

Appreciate any help! It’s a special airport to me given it’s my home airport!

I have that scenery and purchased it from the FS marketplace. I just checked it and it seems fine.

How did you uninstall/reinstall it? I’d likely delete it in the content manager, exit FS, restart FS, and re-install. After doing that, make sure it is still the only one installed.

After deleting it and BEFORE restarting FS, I’d make sure you don’t see any reference to flightbeam-kpdx in your OneStore folder.

I uninstalled it from the contrail app since that is where I had purchased it a few years ago. I will go into the content manager and make sure it’s be removed from there too and then re install and re start!

So I am unable to uninstall from the content manager as it only tells me it is installed in the community folder.

I have deleted from community folder. And re installed and still does not work. Have uninstalled via the contrail app (where it was purchased) and re installed there and still doesn’t work :confused:

It baffles me cause I installed it again 2 weeks ago (on new PC build) went in game and verified it worked and it did. Haven’t flown in, out, or over since then until today.

I’ve never used that app. I hope that’s not the problem - but it’s reasons like this I try to keep apps to the minimum :slight_smile:

Make sure when you either install or uninstall, that FS is not running (unless it’s a Market item of course). As a general rule, all you should need to do is delete the folder for KPDX out of your Community folder unless you got it on the market. No guarantees that won’t confuse or mess up your app, but as far as how FS works, if it’s not there, it’s not loaded. If it is there, it should be loaded.

Thank you! Yeahhhh I don’t know what happened for me. When I just delete the KPDX folder out of the community folder and go the contrail app it shows “install” so it’s deleted. I re install. It’s back in the community folder. In game it says in the content manager I have “KPDX by Flightbeam” installed. But when I load in it’s that flat stock asobo version.

I’m afraid I might just have to re buy off the market place :man_shrugging:t2:

Just for kicks I will try KDEN. By flightbeam as well and also installed via contrail app.

Well it doesn’t appear that Asobo has done their own version of this airport, but just for future reference this can happen if you replace a custom airport that came as (for example) one of the world updates. Even if you buy it on the Marketplace. They’re really unclear about that. For instance I picked up KSEA in Seattle and I needed to uninstall the Asobo version.

I wouldn’t resort to rebuying it just yet - that’s good money, and there’s no reason not to try support first.

I do like the Market myself. I know there’s a lot of arguments around it but it does just work pretty well. I would contact Flightbeam and see if they can help you out first. I have looked at their website and they say they will refund recent purchases as long as you follow any steps they have to fix it. I’m sure they’d be able to figure it out, but worst case scenario you might get them to refund your money if they can’t.

Good news, found the solution. I found a post on the support thread by Flightbeam and they stated it is an issue with the “no static option” in the contrail app. Which I have this option selected. Would have never guessed. They apparently are working on a solution. Thanks for your help!

I am having the same problem, but changing the static aircraft setting has no effect. I’ve messaged FlightBeam support.

Has anyone else made a KPDX scenery or is FlightBeam the only one?

Flightbeam is the only payware version of PDX there is right now! When I had the issue FlightBeam was quick to respond and help! I was flying out of PDK today and every thing was fine (static option off)! Hope you get it fixed!

Forgot all about this thread. FlightBeam promptly got back to me when I contacted them last month and fixed the issue. It was a problem with the Contrail installer. They gave me a temporary workaround that bypassed the Contrail installer while they work with Contrail on the permanent fix.

I have the same problem here, I just finished a LAX-PDX flight and I noticed that I didn’t have the scenery.
What should I do to get around the problem?
