FLY-BY CAMERA FOR REPLAY

Awaied by many users of Microsoft Flight Simulator, this brand new Replay feature that was missing is LIVE. You can now watch your own aircraft evolving on ground and in the air from a external camera that follows your position automatically. It works anywhere, with any aircraft and with any add-on scenery during Replay. The user can select the right side or the left side, and set the custom distance of his choice.

During taxi operations, at takeoff or landing, or while you are cruising, fly-by camera mode will jump from a position to another along your flight trajectory to keep your aircraft always in sight with a cinematic performance ! No more hassles in setting a virtual spotter view, a button click and you are set to watch !

HYPER PERFORMANCE GROUP H145 V2 FURTHER SUPPORT

With the last March 23 Update of FlightControlReplay 5, I initially supported this iconic helicopter model in MSFS with cyclic pedals, and collective control accurately reproduced in your Replay.

Now in Summer 23 Update, the custom support of this advanced helicopter in MSFS is complete : lights, doors, engine switches…

Complex aircraft add-ons need a custom development time and coding effort to make sure that all events are actually detected and reproduced during Replay. HPG H145 V2 is now added to my growing list already including PMDG 747, Fenix A320, Fly The Maddog MD80 series, Just Flight 146 Pro, Aerosoft CRJ, iniBuilds A310, FlyByWire Simulations A32NX, and Salty 747-400 Mod.

Is there a part of your Replay that you feel is useless or too long before/after the action moment ? No problem anymore, and it’s very practical to be able now to cut your Replay directly from FlightControlReplay V5 user interface. You won’t need to cut the final video in your video editing software, and you will keep the FCR file at the minimum size that you need with only the interesting part that you are interested in.

Another improvement to enjoy, is the reduction of .FCR user files. By using an efficient compression technology, FlightControlReplay V5 files of your recorded flights will now require much less free space on your disk. It will make it also easier and faster to share these files in the Cloud or on a separate mobile drive.

FlightControlReplay V5 already came by default with several options to adapt its size, transparency, to your need with 3 layouts of the user interface, and other options to activate transparency or the mode Always-on-top to keep the window of FCR5 always visible even with the flight simulator in full screen.

Yeah thanks turns out my setting were a little aggressive and after turning off “use Expert systems algorithms to identify malicious files” it installed fine. Turns out it does not necessarily mean that the file is malicious. It simply means that it’s PE structure is similar to that of malware and viruses. I’m happy with your reply I thought it was false flag just it’s the first time I saw that since recently turning that setting on. I thought maybe somehow the server files maybe got swapped. I’m happy to delete my post if I can.

He’s me first play with it, it’s very smooth!

I’m using a Xbox controller for the drone camera, I count get the software to bind the controller for camera shortcuts so I just use MSFS binds. Maybe I don’t know how to use it yet.

You can use Xbox controller for sure for record camera path , but you must bind it with fcr in fcr option dialog

Did you notice you have two modes of Replay in the tool for MSFS and P3D5 ?

- RE-LIVE : this is the easiest and fastest method for a quick replay of your last 2 minutes of flight. Activate RE-LIVE with 1 button click, and use the time slider to review your last 120 seconds of flight at anytime.
Click on STOP just once to continue the flight from the moment in the past that you selected.
This mode also enable the Crash Recovery feature in case of return to desktop of your simulator. FlightControlReplay saves your last position and will restart the flight from the last known position where you were before the crash !

- STANDARD : this is the most common method for any replay with all advanced features enabled. Click Record and fly ! No limit of your recording time, you can record and replay an entire flight if you want. To replay, just load it (or use the automatic option to load always the last recorded flight) and click PLAY.
Anytime during Replay, use TakeControl button to resume the flight live and restart flying from that point (if you missed an approach or a navigation point of your flight plan). And you can also record a new flight now, without alteration to your previously recorded flight.

Hi ! Yes ! FlightControlReplay v5 will be FREE for all customers also for MSFS 2024 ! FCR v5 will be compatible with MSFS 2024 from Day 0

Hello.

Have you already noticed that you can set an Automatic Camera Change during Replay ? Here’s some help about it if you need.

Load a Replay first. Click Play to start. The next steps need to be performed from the standard window of FlightControlReplay. If you don’t want to leave the flight simulator, then activate the option “Always-on-top”.

Now in FCR5 User Interface, click Pause and use the Pencil button right below the time slider. This opens a new window where you can select another camera view among the default cameras supported in the simulator. They are sorted by Camera type Cockpit / Internal / Showcase.

Repeat the same steps at the different times when you want to select a different camera. When you restart the full replay, you will enjoy your work with Automatic Camera change. More details in the User Manual pages 31-32.

For those of you who want a random and full automatic camera change, then use the Cinematic Replay feature ! You have the direct button for its activation both in MSFS toolbar and in Windows user interface.

@Kartijno remember you promised me you would look into tiller function a while ago. Has that been implemented yet? Right now, when you steer with the rudder, the nose wheel swivels also in the replay but when you steer with the tiller (airliners and some jets like the Citation Longitude), it does not swivel during replay, only during the actual flight.

Hello,

Today’s focus is on the feature “Take/Leave control” in FlightControlReplay 5, available in MSFS and P3D.

Basically, it will be used to switch the control of the aircraft between you and the software.

During a Replay, click on TakeControl returns the flight controls Live to you and you can fly again from this moment. Click again on TakeControl and the active aircraft will return controlled by FlightControlReplay, and its position and path will respect again the flight data recorded in the Replay file.

If you use PlayAsAI to generate AI aircrat, or if there are AI aircraft generated by your AI traffic situated in the vicinity of your position, click on this button to take full control of the selected AI plane or your own airplane currently on Replay. Click again this button, and the control returns to FlightControlReplay, all aircraft settings return in line with recorded values of the Replay.

Hi guys! What is you workflow when starting the Flight Control Replay in VR?

I am currently opening FCR while being in 2D (starting in VR the in game FCR will open but as an empty screen) then open the FCR in VR through the menu and start recording.

However, when loading a recording, I need to take my headset off in order to select the folder where the file is stored (which I cannot do in VR) then I can put again the headset to see the recording.

Is there a way I to do all this in VR without taking the headset off?
