Flightfx Citation X

What’s the point of chasing a fix for something that might not be an issue come actual release is the response you may get. If it is a sim issue there is little point. This is why dev’s don’t support beta builds. You are just chasing a moving goal post. If the issue persists post release then I’m sure they’ll be on it.

For those who want to use the airplane in SU4 Beta, I just disabled the 2024 model and enabled the 2020 one. It is working, of course we dont get the full suite of 2024 features, but the airplane is flyable and the screens do work. Could be a temporary workaround until the screens get fixed on the 2024 model

I am not saying they need to fix it, I am saying there is no word from them on the issue itself except ‘ we dont support betas’. I understand they dont support betas, but it would have been nice if some info on the cause of the issue would have been given.

For me, the beta gives a major performance boost , so I am happy to stay in the beta. And would be even more happier with the Citation X. But I am going to try the 2020 option as indicated above.

I guess it’s the same. It just means someone has to step away from what they were doing to service an issue that might just go away once we get to release. Every minute spent looking into beta related issues is a minute less spent on other stuff I am sure they deem more important.

Not saying some info is not useful but just looking at it from a devs perspective.

Thanks for the excellent suggestion, it works on my side as well! (sometimes you wonder why didnt I try that myself… )

Possible to monitor COM2 on this plane?

Hi,

Could you please give the exact path to the file location of the Context.xml file? I tried to find it but could not locate the Context.xml file.

Thanks in advance!

  • Microsoft Store version: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\<xboxID>\Content.xml

  • Steam version: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\<Steam Username Folder>\Content.xml

Hi again,

Many thanks! :+1:

Much appreciated.

Hi,

I think that I may have discovered a specific problem with the FFX Citation X in MSFS 2020.

On my first flight I loaded a Simbrief flight plan from LOWS to LFLY without any issues.

Then I tried another flight from LSZB (Bern, Switzerland) to LOWS (Salzburg, Austria). The FMS loaded only the departure point LSZB and the destination point LOWS. No airways, no departure or arrival.

Tried the same flight in the FSW Learjet 35 with the PMS50 GTN 750 and the flight plan from LSZB to LOWS loaded fine, including all airways, departure and arrival.

Maybe someone from FFX could have a look at this?

Thank you!

Will now try in MSFS 2024 and advise.

Hi again,

So now I have tried the same flight from LSZB to LOWS in MSFS 2024 and the same issue exists here. The Simbrief flight plan does not get loaded.

How is Xbox series x 2024 handling the CCX?

I have the same problem. I can’t see any replies to your question, but was wondering if you have found a solution yet?

Been enjoying flying the citation x, Do we know anything about the erj 145 project yet?

This is the only info I could find with a quick search.

“A very preliminary estimate from FlightFX targets the “early 4th Quarter” of 2025 with release planned for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and possibly Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 based on market demand”

But this was back in February of 2025 so I’ll bet the time line has changed. They’re also working on a Challenger 350 which appeared to be further along than the 145 and I’m still waiting on that to be released.

I don’t really use social media or discord so there may be more updates there I’m just not privy to them at the moment.

I have an issue with the Citation X night panel lighting. When I turn up the panel backlight intensity via the “EL” knob, only the lower middle section panel lights are illuminated. The rest of the panel lights remain unlit, so I am forced to fly with some level of flood lighting at night, which is not ideal. I am using the 2020 version of the Citation X in MSFS 2024 beta 4 (due to the black screen issue with the native 2024 version in the beta) - so that could be the issue. Or perhaps I just don’t know how to properly configure cockpit lighting in the Citation X. Is anyone else experiencing the same?

Time has passed, sunshades were still not movable with the controller… sad thing.

My Citation MFD says WX/OFF and I’m not sure why i thought i had it turned on. anyone know how to use this?

There’s a row of black buttons on the left side. You’ll find the toggle on/off for the radar there…but it’ll only be functional if you’ve also enabled the main setting for it with the rotary dial bottom-left of where the throttles are.
