Flightfx Citation X

I found that if I switch to MFD XY vs Vector, before going through flight plan setup, when I go through the Takeoff, setup, Takeoff Data shows the XY components and therefore, the crosswind data…

Curious, why is the Flightfx Citation X not available in Career mode?
It’s really a nice bird, but I mostly fly Career mode on my PS5…

Thanks

At launch it was said that it was not included due to some autopilot bugs which were only an issue in Career mode (don’t ask me how that works). Since FFX have released two additional aircraft that are Career compatible, they’ve said that a future update to the Citation X (possibly releasing this summer?) will bring with it Career compatibility.

Thanks for the quick reply, then I guess I’ll have to wait…

Not true.

I have gone to the Citation X FMC, deleted origin and destination airports, and started over manually entering a new flight. The plane flies it as accurately as the original plan.

What the sim WON’T do, however, is allow a synced ATC guidence, whether MSFS internal ATC, BATC, etc. To have ATC synced with the new leg/plan, you have to start again from the Main Menu, which is already a Wish List item asked for a long time ago.

Am I misunderstanding your post?

The guidance is to exit out back to the World Map and establish a new Origin to Dest. That’s been the guidance since 2020. YMMV.

Is there some way to get the Citation X to display DME information for a 2nd VOR that isn’t your primary? (or even VOR1 when FMS is selected)

E.g., I needed to fly an 11 nm DME arc arrival SPO1S DIAP/SEVOG.I21-Z

And I couldn’t get the DME information from 114.3 AD – I put 114.3 on VOR 2 manually and selected it on the bearing selector – usually there would be PFD options to display DME information but not finding them in this version. “Coming soon”?

You can fly heading and switch nav source briefly as a work-around or do 10/10 DME turn of course, getting there isn’t the issue – just wondering if this is something that is missing or am I missing something

Try this as an alternative to going back to the Main Menu, assuming you use an ATC addon like Beyond ATC, etc. and are flying a plane whose FMC can import a Simbrief plan (like the Citation X or a 3rd party airliner.)

When you complete the flightplan to your first airport, create a new plan to your next airport in Simbrief, and import that into the FMC (depending on the aircrtaft you might haqve to delete the previous deperture and/or arrival airport…haven’t tried that) . Restart the ATC program, which automatically sees the most recent Simbrief plan, and ATC should guide you accurately.

The only time, on a multi-leg flight, that you still have to return to the Main Menu is if you use the World Map (MSFS) flightplanner. Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.

I don’t see the need in this case to use nav2. Just put the VOR station frequency into Nav1 and use that. Autopilot in heading mode if you want that to fly the aircraft. Then just the usual small adjustments to the heading bug to stay on the arc.

Can someone clarify how the version with winglets corresponds to the “Lite Textures” version? I’m looking for no winglets and ‘normal’ textures but unsure about it. Thanks

It doesn’t. The configuration UI in MSFS 2024 is a total mess.

Look for this one…

ok so the winglets are purely livery based? like some liveries have winglets and some don’t?

another Q while I’m here and learning the plane: is battery power modeled? i’ve been in the cockpit for a while on battery power only tinkering with the FMC and the battery voltage hasn’t changed. is there a way to see if the battery is discharging or chargin?

There are two variants one with and one without winglets and both have the same liveries. You have to search all over the place for what you want. The UI is just really bad.

Check the ammeter.

No I don’t think it is. If you have 2020 installed it’s much easier to see how the different options are split. You can get the winglet or non winglet versions in hi or lower res and you get the different liveries with each of those variants.

The 2024 UI is a total mess. It doesn’t order them logically which makes visually scanning all the options impossible. It needs some serious attention particularly now hot swapping of newer avionics is not possible.
