Flights logged dropped from logbook

Not at all the case for me, free flights still dropping from my logbook per my OP. Cheers!

Same here.

I am in ‘free flight” exclusively.

And while I fly roughly 30 hours per week since the launch of MSFS 2024, my logbook is showing 109 hours.

So for me it is dropping 99,9 % of flight over time.

Not instantly, but initially saved flight get lost after a day or two.

I now installed Volanta 2 days ago. It shows all 3 flights with its 9 hours. The Logbook in the sim shows 0 for this whole week.

Also exclusively using free flight and while flights will log, they are gone when I next start the sim

Weird, mines the other way

I thought volanta would also loose the log as doesn’t that read from the sims logbook ?

Fortunately the bug has been logged, and it is on the development teams to find and fix it. Cheers!

I did not import any flights.

It just tracks my flights “live” and seems to store them seperately.

I’d be quite surprised if its just an import from the Sim as it shows much more details than the sim.

But I am only on my 3rd say with it, so I I am no experienced enough to judge. But so far it works well.

I’d wish the SIM itself would be reliable and fully featured though, or at least provide modules to integrate 3rd party in the sim.

I am not a fan of running external apps but currently I need Virtual Desktop, BATC, COUATL, FENIX or Simbridge, and now Volanta (and addonLinker to start the Sim) just to have a decent experience with MSFS.

2 posts were split to a new topic: Questions about the Lost Flight Issue

Interesting, but certainly not conclusive: I have not lost any of the last 14 flights over the past two weeks. The last flight lost was back on 11/4 and today is 11/20. That is the longest run of good luck in a while LOL. Watch and tomorrow I will have lost today’s flight LOL. All good till this gets fixed!

I have found that the XBox Live Game Save service depends directly on the Xbox Live Auth Manager service. The XBox Live Game Save service will shut down when inactive. This means MSFS2024 has a bug calling and using this service. It’s not 100% reliable, or even 75% reliable. If this service is not running when you start a flight, the flight won’t save. If this service is not running when you end the flight, the flight will not be saved either. This is a known bug in this Xbox save service. MSFS 2024 should not rely on this service to save flights, but does.

I make sure mine is running before using the app and it’s also running when I close the app, doesn’t make it relatable though and career just doesn’t track no matter what so there’s deffo a issue somewhere. Let’s hope they fix it before su4 drops

Update to FlightLogAnalyzer works great to correct dropped flights. FS2024 logbook is still incorrect but the analyzer tracks the flights and hours just as one would expect. Kudos to those guys who can see and understand the problem enough that they, in their Great program, can keep track of flights like we expect.

Same here.

It show 2:09 total but when i click the journal, i can see other flights aren’t counted. Also they appear in “all” instead of “career” Devmode off, no mods, nothing…

Excellent App. New update fixes lost flights . Works great. don’t think the “fixed” flights go back to FS2024, I think that is still broke. But now we have something that logs flights and hours correctly, I went back to FS2024 after staying with 2020 for a while. 5 flights in 2 days all present and correct, 2 were recovered (1 from a month ago the last time I last flew in 2024), was the first to be deleted by 2024 when I started it this time. FlightLogAnalayzer found it right away and recovered it in its log book.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

Log book records flight time but does not show the updated total on the next session.

The last date that displays each time I start the simulator is November 2, 2025.

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

The latest logbook totals revert back to the November 2, 2025 total every time I restart the sim.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Conduct flight

  2. Look at logbook to see new total hours, exit MSFS2024

  3. Restart MSFS2024, logbook total reverts to November 2, 2025

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

I am doing the current SU4 beta testing with the latest update.

I recently purchased the Carenado Baron and GTN750 from the marketplace - the last recorded flight is in the Baron.

It could be GTN750 app, though I’m not sure how to disable it, or it could be something I the SU4 beta testing. I mentioned this issue in the latest SU4 update performance thread and had some replies that have also seen logbook issues.

What peripherals are you using:

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?

[PC, MSFS 2020 Only] Are you using DX11 or DX12?

[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use?

[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?

MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.

If you disable this aircraft does the logbook retain the hours again ?
If you fly another aircraft does the logbook retain the hours ?

Should not it be 2025 ?

I will test the other aircraft by flying and disabling it, and yes it’s Nov 2, 2025 as indicated in the images.

Thanks for the replies.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
•Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
•Xbox series X - career flights are logged. Free flights not

I did a few flights this evening.

1). I flew the B55 with the GTN750 disabled from the EFB, but still installed. The logbook returned to the Nov 2 totals when I exited the sim and restarted.

2). I did 2 flights, Carenado F33 and PA44 and disbaled the GTN750 in my library. This time the PA44 flight remained in the logbook after I exited the sim and restarted.

  1. I did one more flight, with the Carenado PA28-181 Archer II and when I exited and restarted the sim, the flight was gone and the PA44 was the new latest logbook entry.

I have not disabled the B55 entirely yet. I did a full install and there was no change to the logbook. I will disable the B55 tomorrow.

If it turns out that the B55 is the issue, what can be done about it? I’ve paid for the aircraft but if I can’t log my hours will I be able to get my money back or will Asosbo/Carendo of the vendor of the GTN750 did a way to patch the issue?

it is strange that disabling the GTN750 allowed only the PA44 log entry to remain and not the others.

Not likely the root cause of this particular bug, more likely these are coincidences in what is a complex cloud based software system. The bug that is logged existed before the B55 became available to me, and is in play across many models, so they are not likely the root cause either. The good news is that the bug is logged and it is on the developer teams to find the root cause and fix it!

I have the same problem with any other aircraft, so it’s not exclusive to any particular plane.

Personally, I started noticing this problem several months ago. I thought it would be fixed with SU3, but it wasn’t.

Then I thought I noticed that only the first flight of the day was being saved, but I realized that wasn’t it either. The problem is random.

All my flights will be recorded for a week, then for some reason I can’t fathom, one day it just stops working.

The exact cause lies somewhere on Microsoft’s cloud, and I really hope that Asobo/MS will have fixed the problem with the release of SU4.
