Flights logged dropped from logbook

FWIW, all 6 flights I have made in SU6 since 8/22 remain in the logbook, which is not to say it has been fixed as I have had longer streaks of flights not deleted, so time will tell for my part.

You are right. Today, I made two flights, but second flight owerwrote my first flight. So it is still garbage.

A dozen flights in SU6 since 8/22 (the last two in 6.1) all remain in the logbook. Fingers crossed. Cheers!

Hi all, just found this thread.
I have totally given up on the logbook. In FS2020 it worked flawlessly but in FS2024 it was unreliable from the beginning and then stopped working alltogether.
After installing FS2024 on my Xbox some of my flights (not all) were recorded but then I could only review a flight when it was finished and before shutting down FS. On the next FS session it was gone.
Surprisingly around the release of SU6 one flight was recorded, no idea why.
I had some hope but no - all as it used to be. No Logbook!

Regards, Frank

My log only maintains 5 flights. Trims the last flight, plus any earlier flights off. Stats show 19 days of flights, but lists only 5 flights.

No flights recorded for me since the start of SU7 Beta

I’m on Xbox X and I’ve been experiencing the issue of flights not being logged since day 1. Rather frustrating and I hope Asobo will fix it. I know it’s been hundreds of flights dropped from the log book with all types of aircraft; add on and stock. Unfortunately maintaining a handwritten log or electronic log outside of the sim seems necessary.

It’s an embarrassing failure - as is the big cursor on Xbox Series X. It’s that lack of attention to the all important detail again. It’s October 2026 and we can’t maintain a flight log on MSFS2024.

But we get even more new content.

It needs fixing .

First off it’s already been documented that to save a logbook entry you must first “Restart” the flight you just did before starting another flight or exiting MSFS 2024**.**

Something else: I only use Free Flight so your results may vary in other types of flight.

There is only 1 work-around I’m using to save the entry(ies) after leaving the sim completely. I found this by accident after losing a few entries even though they showed up after the “Restart”.

First work-around:

1/ Load MSFS 2024. 2/ “Start” MSFS 2024. 3/ On the “Main menu” immediately go to the top right and click on your user name. 4/ Open the logbook – you should see the last flight. 5/ “[ESC] Back” to “Main menu”. 6/ Do whatever flying you want remembering to “Restart” each flight before starting another flight or exiting the sim.

Second work-around:

1/ Load MSFS 2024. 2/ “Start” MSFS 2024. 3/ Do whatever flying you want remembering to “Restart” each flight before starting another flight or exiting the sim. 4/ On the “Main menu”, just before exiting the sim, go to the top right and click on your user name. 5/ Open the logbook – you should see the last flight. 6/ Exit sim.

My mistake - ONLY THE FIRST WORK-AROUND WORKS!!

I’ve been doing this ever since MSFS 2020 when it went through the same shenanigans. In fact, if I recall, there was no way at all to save any entry back then. I have several logbooks - one for each plane I fly and one with all the entries of all the planes I fly as a proper logbook would look.

Let us know if this helps.

Bob.
