As a MSFS novice (hope I’m in the right section) can someone please tell me what is the difference between the flightsimbuilder and the Aviatek G1000’s. There seems to be a huge price difference. Thanks
Hi there,
This is an old post, but I wanted to answer it as an owner of an Aviatek.
I don’t know anything about FlightSimBuilder, but generally, if something is considerably cheaper or more expensive, it likely could have something to do with the encoders used. (An encoder basically translates the motion of something into a signal that can be used, for example, the knob on a G1000.) A higher-quality one would have better accuracy, better signal-to-noise ratio, better speed, and better durability.
Also, there’s something to be said about the feel of a product. I used to own a different G1000, which was expensive in its own right (considerably more expensive than the FlightSimBuilder one) and I hated the feel of it. The Aviatek version feels real, and that was extremely important to me.
Finally, I’d like to point to this video. I’m a customer of this guy, and I know that in addition to selling flight sim equipment, he’s also a certified flight instructor. He was not paid to make this video:
Many thanks for the info.
Yes I have decided on the Avitek especially as they have a slight discount at the moment. I note as well another G1000 company has a problem with MSFS 2024. I did ask Avitek about a week ago but no reply which maybe not a good sign?
Has anyone had trouble getting in touch with Aviatek? I purchased the G1000 back in December 2024 and was told a delay in getting parts. I contacted them again in early Feb and informed system should be on the way the following week. Now they are not replying to emails Facebook or telephone. Has anyone had any recent trouble with Aviatek?
