I was used to the SimuFly.com INS almost twenty years ago in flight sim, it worked like the real one so I haven’t updated FSS B727 as I will wait to see if they have any update worth updating (to me anyway) then I will fly it again.
The person before me probably had a better answer than I do, but, if you leave the cockpit, and go to the area just outside of the cockpit door, there are some switches for the cargo door, one is a master switch and the other is to open and close the door. If the paper clip doesn’t work (I’ve had that happen too) the switches might
I noticed after shutdown the GPU doesnt appear, and when selecting it on the power shuts off…
Thanks! Will check! It was actually working once I tried again - it seems that sometimes stuff does work and then not - a tad inconsistent maybe.
The Captainsim 727-100 was preatty good.
Hi, today I hit the same bug. I noticed that I can’t open the upper cargo door, setting speed bugs from the clipboard didn’t work and the blue indicators on the radio panel were all stuck on the left side. I’ve tried to restart my flight like twice but the only thing that helped after all was a restart of MSFS. There’s definitely something on and it probably also explains your problems with the GPS. I haven’t even tried to get airborne when noticed there’s something wrong.
Yea - like yesterday I could also not set speed bugs via tablet and no gps tracking. It’s inconsistent however - often it works - snd sometimes not. Weird…
Some people already reported it on FSS Discord channel, so we will see.
I have been experiencing the cargo door not opening on the MD-11, the other ‘three holer’ as well I use GSX, and I’m starting to think that GSX is the problem. To the other folks having this issue, do you also use GSX?
I think that if you ask GSX to load, or unload before opening the doors, it won’t work, perhaps does work without using GSX.
I’d do some testing, but I think I have an A319 to fly today!!!
I don’t think it’s the GSX or maybe we’re experiencing a different bug. I had more things not working when I realized I can’t open the upper cargo door. That was my least worry, actually. Because I also found that I can’t set the speed bugs via the clipboard, I couldn’t move the heading bug (like it was controlled by the airplane) and the blue indicators on the radio panel were just stuck. I bet had I took off the AP wouldn’t follow the route as @MerlinCH65 experienced. I had tried three times to go to the main menu and restart the flight but it was just the same each time. Only the restart of MSFS helped.
For the first time, I experienced this exact same thing yesterday. A bunch of things weren’t working, which unfortunately I only discovered the magnitude of after I took off. First indication something was wrong was that the cargo door wouldn’t open. It only happened after I updated it. Almost like an incomplete update, or some systems just didn’t load in correctly. I just reloaded the sim after shutting down overnight and it’s still not working so I might try a reinstall of the 727. Not 100% sure what happened but it feels like a bad install.
It did hang at 100% loading after I hit fly when I updated to the new version, so maybe it didn’t compile correctly.
Edit: doing a reload (like you sometimes have to with the PMDGs) fixed it this time.
You probably know that but you can trigger the compilation by deleting “C:\Users[user name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\fss-aircraft-boeing-727-200f” folder without the addon reinstall.
That was going to be my next try even though I got it to work with a reload, I’m skeptical that it’s fixed for good, so I’ll try that next anyway.
Yes, I’ve been having these problems intermittently as well, the heading thing has ensured all my approaches in the past week or two have been manual, as I cant use heading mode to intercept the localizer. All the other bugs are a slight annoyance, but I sure would like to see the heading bug ‘bug’ squashed.
A new version v1.0.2 available
Certainly a nice quality of life update. The SimBrief import into the INS, and the EFB fix for departure airport on turnaround, resolved the last of my day to day inconveniences, particularly with turnarounds. Ran a UPS flight from Boston to Miami and a quick turnaround to the Dominican Republic with zero issues, using the INS. Nice to see the improvement to the heading bug as well so it still works now when on AUX NAV.
New update is leading to CTDs for me at the moment. not consistent, and when working, the plane is much improved.
I haven’t had a CTD for months now.
Anyway, there’s a new update available with some additional fixes to the patch 1.0.2…
Yes, up until the patch v1.0.2 I had gone a nice while between CTDs it seems worse depending on the livery, and I can usually get a flight in after re-loading MSFS. I will install the new update and hope for the best.
I love this plane, it’s worth the CTDs
After more than 25f/hrs I have to say I am very happy with the 727. Challenging to fly with the INS, no VNAV, no RNP approaches, no auto throttle, keeps me busy for all phases of the flight. The developer is updating the product frequently correcting bugs and adding features.
