*.FLT File Internal Structure

Discovery Flights and Flight Lessons begin with the pre-determined aircraft.

Discovery Flights, in addition, are fully set up at a predefined global coordinate and altitude, throttles and trims are pre-set for cruise and the aircraft will be fully fit without any damage.

Question – If the aircraft type is changed in either of these scenarios, will the throttle and trim, etc. also be changed to use the control options/key bindings, etc. of the new aircraft? What if the new aircraft is a multi-engine? Will throttles, trim and other control options set in the control options apply?

Does anyone have the applicable values for the various elements of *.flt files? For example Sim= Type of aircraft . . . If so, could you share them?

Regards

These are probably not hand-coded - at least not at first. They’re usually generated when a flight is saved from within the sim. Once saved, some options can be tweaked by hand, but changing the aircraft would require changing a myriad of other parameters to go along with it.
