I don’t think there is a manual. Luckily the Coyote is relatively easy to operate. Some notable info about the FS2024 version:
There is a checklist stored below the panel. You can open it by clicking on it and you can switch to a second page where you can see the aircraft condition / configuration.
In walkaround mode, aside from removing the chocks and pitot cover, you can open a panel on the engine compartment to get to the oil filler. You can remove the filler cap and pull out the dipstick by clicking on them to check the oil. You can also turn the prop by clicking on it.
I just bought this for 2024 from Contrail. It’s a really nice plane. I’ve only had a few test flights with it so far, floats and tail dragger variants so far, but very happy with it. My only complaint would be there is not much in the way of noise from the water when travelling at speed in the float variant. I had a very nice one wheel landing in a crosswind too, and ground handling in general seems well done.
I noticed on a flight earlier than the electrics dies on me, and I couldn’t turn on the GPS or lower gear.
I had copied a SPAD default profile over to build one for this plane. I noticed in the cockpit that there was no button for the alternator, although there is a CB for it.
On my physical switch panel I have an alternator switch, and this had a binding. I believe I had turned off the alternator, and it was draining the battery. Below a certain level some functions stop working, like the GPS, gear, and landing lights. When I flipped the physical switch back on, the battery started to charge, and shortly after the GPS switched back on again.
I’m curious that even with this hidden alternator back on there isn’t enough power to run the GPS, like it generates just enough juice to charge the battery. For future flights I’ll unbind that switch, and confirm the issue does no recur.
The new version is a native 2024 aircraft. You have to buy this separately, either as a new purchase or as an upgrade with a nominal fee if you already own the 2020 version.
I just purchased the 2024 version through Orbx, and when it installs (symlink to my Orbx Library) I see now I have 2 ‘files’ enabled in Community by default.
I assume, I only need the 2024 one ticked (In Addons Linker)? It’s not a modification to the base in the eyes of the sim? In other similar situations (upgrades from Orbx) it has listed them separately for 2024 in my local files so not sure why this is showing like that.
Minor point after my first fight. Can it be only me with these control animation problems?
In the Trike Bush variant. Not tried the others yet.
Rudder pedals: In neurtral position, the right foot is further pressed away than left (the pedals are not equally centred). It flies straight so it is ONLY the visual in cockpit that is off. Pressing left foot fully down and it barely goes beyond the right pedal as that one comes back towards me. Pressing right foot down goes relatively much further away.
Stick, left/right (aileron): Sitting on the ground, at first the stick animation did not move at all. Forward / backwards does but left righr was not working. I thought my controls were not bound but they are. Looking from outside (with control) shows that the ailerons (and elevetor) is actually moving but only the stick is not visually moving left or right.
Started rolling down the runway and then it started moving sideways BUT the opposite way!! Moving my actual joystick left made the cockpit one move right and vice versa! Never seen that before lol
But the plane was rolling (banking) the correct way so again it is just the visual of the cockpit stick is wrong. Took-off and shortly after (not immediately, I did a couple of wing tips and it was still wrong way) then suddenly the visual “snapped” to where my actual stick was (the other side) and from then on it was all correct. Very strange!
I’ve seen the rudder pedal thing in several other aircraft before (even in FS2020) so it’s probably not related to the Rans S6S per se.
I haven’t experienced your second issue. Do you use FSRealistic? If so, you should disable the movement effects of the Wind Ambience feature. Or perhaps it’s some other tool that manipulates the aircraft or the controls in some strange way? Perhaps you have Steam running in the background? Steam totally messes up my controller that I use for the drone cam for example.
I don’t use FS Realistic in 2024. I have Steam running (it needs to) but never had this problem anywhere else. I am not using the Xbox controller for anything other than camera controls and walking with the avatar. The joystick is mapped to my shiny new Moza AB9 so I don’t think Steam is interfering with that.
Also are you saying the rudder pedals are centred by default on you Sim Market copy?
Now there is a red flag! Every time there is something “shiny new” and issues pop up that didn’t occur before, that should be the first thing to investigate.
No, they are not centered. But neither are the pedals on (many) other aircraft. It’s normal “not normal”.
Let me jump in on some of the issue mentioned if I may…
The position of the rudder pedals is accurate and is a representation of the IRL.
If we are talking about the same thing. The right pedal is actually offset by a thickness of the rod that pedals are attached to. So the pedal is not pressed at all, that is just the natural position it sits on.
You can notice that rods that hold pedals are longer than the floor itself and they are offset so they can fit. Its just the way system is designed.
As for the stick problem. I never experienced something like that. As @Jigsaw407 mentioned I would check the new equipment you got. It might be something to do with it. Usually when something start happenign and we made a change.. it can be the thing thats affecting it.
