I’ve been having an issue with my speedbrakes on the FlyByWire cockpit. I hope that this is the right section for discussing my problem.
When fully deployed, the speedbrakes only go up 40% and stay there. Sometimes they don’t respond at all. I am unable to find a solution on how to fully extend them to 100%. I tried this manually by moving the handle in game and on my hotas, with the same result. Is this an Airbus feature or am I missing something?
I tested this on ground and in flight as well, no difference. I have also tested the spoilers on other aircraft and there are no such issues (iniBuilds A310, Heavy Division 787 etc.). So this is FlyByWire specific (A320NX, Headwind A330neo).
Some other information, which may be useful:
Platform: PC
Game Platform: Steam
FlyByWire Version: Stable v0.9.1
If anyone had similar issues, feel free to comment or provide some ideas!
Thanks guys
I had the same problem on my Thrustmaster Sidestick. To control the airbrakes with a slider would be good but ,to overcome the problem I have assigned 2 buttons and, after the activation to 100% , I tune the % by moving the cockpit lever
I just looked it up in the simulator.
In the FBW A320-Neo, the air brakes move in parallel with the lever from start to finish, but overall not very far out of the wing. With autopilot engaged in the air, the deflection is less, if I’m seeing this correctly.
With armed speed brake during landing or takeoff abort, the ground spoilers extend much further.
It looks similar with the Fenix A320-Ceo. The spioler surfaces are used differently, on the ground or in the air. They only extend really far during active braking.
I use the T.16000M, but “reverse axis” is disabled for me.
This should actually work.
However, with the Airbus, the function of the spoiler/speedbrake action is strongly influenced by the current state and automatic of the aircraft.
I understand what you mean. I agree with you 100%. I’ve noticed that , on landing ,the ground spoilers are fully extend if armed.
I didn’t notice that on flight because I never engage the spoiler to full .Or ,let’s say, I do it for a few seconds when I toggle them but I decrease them immediately after to avoid possible failures.
Thank you guys so much for your suggestions! When armed, it deploys normally to its full extend when landing. Still kinda weird that I can’t manually just put it into “Full”. That’s the reason why I thought there was something wrong
