You’re a lucky guy! It doesn’t show up on my installer screen (yet).
Are you using the latest current installer 3.4.3 ? check here :
Check also if there’s not any Cloudflare locking conditions in your rig and location …
Change log for both a320 and a380
I’ve confirmed I have Installer 3.4.3. Not familiar with Cloudfare, though. I see the installer configuration is moved to Cloudfare. How do I check it / configure it?
Check there’s not any active url blocking tool (or firewalling) blocking any .cloudflare sub domain
I’m going to have to dig into this more. Thank you!
Thanks!
The capture was after crossing the green line. It never quicked in at the line. Being used to the A32N, I would have tought it would do it too.
I was a bit lazy on deperature procedure and haven’t entered the runway so I had to climb and close reach the first route point before going in Managed mode (As I usualy do with the A32N).
Well, will try it again tomorow. FS crashed so it is how it ended.
Thanks agin for helping
It is an alpha I expect these things will be refined over time.
Safe flying!
Great to see the updates already happening. I’ve just test flown the latest development build – 2f774e9 (8k version).
Overall seems more fluid than the previous version.
Other immediately noticeable improvements :
~ More reactive & realistic wing flex;
~ Cockpit ambient light now works properly when the main cabin is disabled;
~ Aircraft now features a fully movable/trimmable horizontal stabilizer;
~ With alpha-floor it’s now easier to push the nose down and get out of a stall. However, if you don’t push the nose down, the aircraft will still exceed max AoA and stall. NB. Alpha-floor is supposed to prevent AoA exceedance – which here it is not doing. Hopefully that will be corrected soon.
Do the reverse thrust levers work for people ? I have a X56 and it works fine with the A320 - reverse thrust levers move back when reverse thrust kicks in (lever going lower than idle). This is not the case with the A380 though - when I move the X56 levers below the idle detent , the two engines go into reverse but the reverse levers do not move. Are other people seeing this or have I done something wrong ?
The animations for the reversers are not yet implemented AFAIK.
Thank you , I was hoping this would be the answer
I confirm your findings as posted in this thread already
The main issue,IMO, is that the reverse thrust don’t work at all .Engine 2&3 nacelles are opening and the engines reverse instruments seem to work but, in the reality there isn’t any real speed reduction effect on the runway.
As far as the lever missing animation if compared to the A320 it might be possible that IRL they don’t move backward at all.
I’ve watched the real life trip of an A380 made by a super Lufthansa pilot landed in San Francisco and,looking at the landing fase, they mentioned the activation of the reverse thrust but there were no shifts of the levers back-ward
and I didn’t see any reverse detent on the thrust levers too. There might be a setting on the MCDU to activate it?
Pls note the following is not a tutorial but a documentary of a real trip from Frankfurt to San Francisco. Worth watching how a realpilot manage all this and the interaction with the atc…
I think I found a couple of bugs.
It seems the RAT button under guard only activated while the button is held. The moment it’s released the RAT power turns off.
Some pedestal key back lights remain lit when the aircraft is fully shutdown.
You see no reverser detends, becaise there are none. Neither in the sim nor IRL.
The reverser are separate handles on top of the main throttle.
For activating the reverser the pilot needs to pull these 2 additional handles.
In the sim they are not animated.
Here a IRL picture.
Good pic! Now it’s clear .Thanks
Reversers on A380 are there only as an additional support to wheel brakes. They don’t do much during braking on dry surface. When the A380 was first designed, there was a debate about whether the plane would feature reverse thrust at all. A380s are designed to come to a complete stop using their brakes alone.
The last two sentences are from Why The Airbus A380 Is Only Equipped With Reverse Thrust On Its Inside Engines
I understand what you mean ,thanks for the link…Reversers are always “an additional support to wheel brakes” on all the plane provided with them . Here they seem to be useless. Try them on the runway before start,put ground brakes off and engage the reversers. The plane wouldn’t move backward. I tested that on all the plane (that I’ve used so far) of the sim provided with reverser and the plane would go backward. If there isn’t backward thrust they cannot be of any help to the wheel brakes.
I understand that the the IRL designer might have wondered to use them or not but, on the YT documentary Video I 've linked above, the co-pilot ,after touchdown, clearly stated Reverse on green…So their real A380 was using them.
Btw, I just wanted to understand if the the FBW devs considers the reversers implemented as are now or if they are going to do something different in the future , including the levers animation.
That’s all.
The point is in RL as in the Sim, the reverse will never provide enough power to roll back with the A380, just by design
Ok , clear information. Thanks a lot.
