Reversers on A380 are there only as an additional support to wheel brakes. They don’t do much during braking on dry surface. When the A380 was first designed, there was a debate about whether the plane would feature reverse thrust at all. A380s are designed to come to a complete stop using their brakes alone.
I understand what you mean ,thanks for the link…Reversers are always “an additional support to wheel brakes” on all the plane provided with them . Here they seem to be useless. Try them on the runway before start, put ground brakes off and engage the reversers. The plane wouldn’t move backward. I tested that on all the plane (that I’ve used so far) of the sim provided with reverser and the plane would go backward. If there isn’t backward thrust they cannot be of any help to the wheel brakes.
I understand that the the IRL designer might have wondered to use them or not but, on the YT documentary Video I 've linked above, the co-pilot ,after touchdown, clearly stated Reverse on green…So their real A380 was using them.
Btw, I just wanted to understand if the the FBW devs considers the reversers implemented as are now or if they are going to do something different in the future , including the levers animation.
Today, the Development (4K) and Development (8K) versions were displayed as an option. I hadn’t seen this before and did not yet do anything with the firewall, as I was still reading about it. So perhaps FBW is doing something a little different now with Cloudfare (?). I’ve moved to the Development (4K) version.
Amazing job by the developing team. Hands down an amazing job. There are three things i would love to see working. F-Plan Info, ATC Com and to get at least one SEC working. F-Plan info top of the list (For Boeing drivers, this is where the FIX page is located).
Get this going, pretty realistic simulation indeed. Obviously having the OIT, and the ABN PROC simulated would be insane.
For some info, the OIT/OIS (Large screen to the left of the captain/fo leg) is ‘talking’ to the A380. Any potential failures that have a performance impact will be synced to the performance calculator. Additional information will also be highlighted for the pilots to review. An amazing system in many ways. Re-Fueling application, load sheet application, Xcheck with avionics function. Easy to simulate and replicate, NO.
The OIT/OIS is a very large part of the daily operation of the A380.
I am installing the A380 aircraft model to the MSFS24 Community folder completely. I enter the game, select the aircraft, and after clicking ‘ready for flight,’ no text appears in the cockpit. I am attaching images. I reinstalled the game and the mod from scratch, but nothing changes. What am I doing wrong? I look forward to your help.
Welcome to the forums! Official state for compatibility with MSFS2024 as to their discord bot: Not supported yet. Under investigation. FBWA380 like most aircraft was build under MSFS2020. It will come one day or the other.
So the aircraft was just fine but today I just cannot get her working at all. The External power switches all say AVAIL but switching them on does nothing when usually loads of annunciators power on. Same airport and gate that I’ve used before, community folder emptied and re-installed aircraft from the FBW app. Also tried powered up state from Fly pad. I just can’t understand what’s changed other than the small sim update that came this week.
Is this just me and if so any further suggestions.
Thanks, I’ll give the dev build a whirl then because the stable is just not playing ball now. Was fine prior to the update. Nothing else has changed as far as I can tell.
Hello guys, I have both 2020 and 2024, both installed on my new PC yesterday (from microsoft store), when I downloaded the FBW installer then installed the 4K stable A380x it came on the 2020 and not the 2024, how can I fix that?
Also, I use the hotas 1, and every time I go idle it sets to reverse thrust, I have no idea how to fix that because it bothers me a lot
First, I suspect that the A380X has yet to be confirmed as fully FS2024 compatible, so the installer will probably have not been changed to allow FS2024 installation yet.
As for the IDLE/IDLE reverse issue, that sounds like you need to tweak the deadzones around your detents, in the calibration screen, to provide a bit more room for error in the location of the lever, when you want it to be in IDLE. However, it may also be that you just have your IDLE and IDLE Reverse detents too close together and their “catchment zones” are overlapping.
