FlyByWire Simulations | A380X alpha | Discussion

Confirmed. I just finished flying the latest dev update and my FPS went from 30 before the update to 50 after. Huge improvement.

Currently flying the Ini A350 (picked it up on their current sale), there are a lot of similarities between the two Aircraft avionics wise (if you can fly one you can fly the other) and both feel like all the essential features are there and working OANS/BTV etc. Have to agree though the A380 is a great (free) add on. I’ll be surprised if Ini go ahead with an A380 (they previusly mentioned they would be) as where will the market be with this quality of freeware available? I feel the trackion/forum interaction of the A380 may be lower due to not so many IRL routes and perhaps now too many other options airliner wise in the sim to fly. I too am guilty of this.

There will always be a market for IniBuilds A380: Xbox (and PS eventually).

A380 Air Manager complete panel set now available.

Alireza, where did you see this development update fixes performance? I am on the latest 4k development version, and I’m getting 20 fps in FS2020. Where in the past I had no problem churning 35-40. Any ideas?

I actually came across your post by pure chance — otherwise I wouldn’t have even noticed it. You might want to use the “reply to post” feature so the person you’re addressing actually gets a notification.

As for the A380, I tested it again just two days ago. From what I can tell, the performance-related issues are still there to some extent and definitely not fully resolved. It’s still pretty heavy on VRAM and I’m getting stutters as well.

That said, there’s a mod you can download that downscales the textures, and it does help improve performance noticeably. Might be worth giving that a shot.

Thank you for the reply. I had thought I did click the “reply to post” button, I guess I didn’t…

I have resolved the problem by removing a very outdated light fix for the A380. Got the performance back to what I was familiar with…

And I actually just downloaded that mod, in light of the mentioned performance issues. it works wonders. But I’ve now encountered this bug and can’t find any data about it:

When I click the “reset this device” button, it just goes back to that screen. Tried clean reinstalls, removal of any mods, empty Community folder, deleted WASM files… nothing doing.

Is anyone else having this too?

I met a CTD problem this night when I’m performing a approach in WSSS after a 5 hours flight. Video froze with sound goes, at first, about 1min later, CTD. I have 4k version installed, 5070ti laptop GPU, 32G RAM, intel ultra7 CPU.

OK, I installed the Development version of the A380 today and did all the setup linking my Navigraph account, setting my throttle detents, loading my Simbrief flight plan, etc and then tried to have GSX load the fuel. It got partway though that process and then a CTD. That has happened twice in a row. I’m pretty spoiled from flying the Fenix without issue so not sure this is all worth the hassle although the plane looks great. Anyone else having issues like this? Should I have used the Stable version?

I had some issues when I first started using the A380. Was a problem with the livery I downloaded. Are you using the stock Airbus house livery and having the problem?

No I found British Airways liveries on Flightsim.to. They had great ratings so I trusted them.

I’m going to let this stew for awhile because each time I try a flight it takes me a half hour before I get to this stage. Just don’t have the time to go through it all again.

Got it. I don’t remember 100% but I am 75% sure the problem livery was BA.

Anyone else getting insanely long loading time with the dev version?

I am just updating to the stable 4K version now that I’ve seen it is available.

My GPU has 32GB VRAM, but W3275M Xeon isn’t most suited to Flight Sim.

I have been struggling to get going with the A380, just getting stuck without being able to move, park brakes off, cycling the foot brakes, etc, no conflicting controls but it will not move.

Just now two times that. I ended up quitting FS2020, downloading the update and will try again. I was able to get it going yesterday with exact same procedures. Must be some sort of glitch.

That said it’s still remarkable for a free addon. To get this level of detail in something that is free, kudos to the developers and everyone putting their time into it.

The A380 deserves the best and they are doing a great job.
