Small development group working hard on getting updates on their planes. Just doing updates for visible weapons is kind of wasting effort. There’s a number of steps required to update planes and it’s more efficient to do all the updates at once.
It’s not disappointing. It’s how to get planes updated faster.
It’s so great. I managed to have one somewhat decent landing, but man this is going to be process. I’m excited for that.
While I have you. There is a yellow lever under the instruments that I believe (i’m not home) is a Windshield Fuel Valve. What is that and when do I use it?
Fuel was used with BF109 G variants onward to clean the front windshield of engine oil.
The idea was when getting hit, the engine or the oil tank would spill oil and the airflow would push the oil backwards until it seeped through the panels onto the windshield. Spraying fuel onto the windshield could restore enough visibility for an attempted return to base or a forced landing.
The system was also used to clean oil left by enemy bombers or fighters. German fighters planes regularly got very close for kills.
A number of these aircraft haven’t been updated in a long time, the Hellcat for example, it simply doesn’t need updating so I don’t see how that’s wasting effort or time if the aircraft doesn’t really need any other updates to its FS2020 version.
Also, the visual weapons are available to non-Marketplace versions so it’s not requiring them to create something new.
Further, is it really that difficult to say, we are going to add this or we are not going to add this in future? I have contacted Flying Iron over this and they haven’t replied.
Lastly, nearly every single developer has updated their products to include visual weapons on their Marketplace products. So I’m happy with my wording of disappointing. Doesn’t mean the product is, I hold them in the the highest regard of any developer producing vintage aircraft for the sim. That doesn’t mean I don’t wish that this could be implemented or indeed acknowledged by Flying Iron themselves.
Ok, we hear you.
And the developer hears you.
Unfortunately for you, they’ve already planned out the next year or two of development for their team.
But, who knows, maybe it’ll include what you want at some point! Good luck!
If it’s only something a very tiny proportion of people want, then fair enough. I still don’t think it’s that big of thing to do considering the model with weaponry exists outiside of the Marketplace. Granted for the ME-109 it doesn’t look too egregious but more so on their P-38 but if it is too much for a small developer than is what it is.
I buy FI direct, but to be fair this is a straightforward request - it doesn’t take a year or 2 to complete. The model already exists. It just needs to be enabled or otherwise swapped over to the Marketplace.
Shouldn’t be a big deal or take much time. I love FI’s aircraft, but they’re awfully lax at updates. They told me via email they’d fix a couple things on this plane “soon” right after it came out. last I knew it’s still not updated. One was the wrong machine gun names on the plane and one was bad/wrong fuel calculations in the tablet.
