Seems when I sign into flypad with my simbrief credentials it activates contact with flight control and sometimes asks for non visual flight control to take over and advise ceilings etc. I sign in to get the weather etc from departure and arrival - although when I ask the FMC to contact the company for weather it is the same as the flypad. I would prefer if when signing into flypad it not initiate contact with Flight control or atis unless I ask for it.
Moved to third party discussion.
Do you mean it auto tunes the local ATIS frequency as you would in the default ATC popup? If so, that’s probably because by default the number keys above the keyboard are bound to the response options in the ATC window (even when closed), and when you type in the EFB tablet your keypresses are sent to the sim not just the tablet so if you type a number it’s selecting that option in the closed ATC menu too.
Simplest solution is just to unbind those default keybinds if you are happy not to use the number keys when interacting with the ATC window
Another option is to bring the EFB up in it’s own window using R-Alt and select. Any keys pressed in that window are NOT passed to the main simulator window. My id has numbers so I suffer from this niggle. I don’t know if this open window has an impact on performance but it can be closed again uging R-Alt select.
Thx all, I decided it was easier to just change my simbrief password and avoid numbers. All good now.
