I don’t think calling something done is at all bad. It doesn’t mean it can never change again it just means a dev would deem it complete. If something comes along after the event and changes that status then it’s clear that an update is required. This is probably only ever going to be a sim update or perhaps another addon conflict that will cause that and therefore force an update to restore it.
I wish I had something like FBW Installer or PMDG Operation Center for C414 too.
I hadn’t flown the 414 since version 3.4.4. I upgraded to 4.4.0, and I had to spend about 10-15 minutes updating some switch bindings for my Logitech gear. Not too much trouble in the end.
It flies as good as I remember, but I think the ground handling is even better now.
It took me a good portion of a day which is why I’m so against this. The master and alternators are one thing but I also have all the lighting mapped to individual instruments so everyone had to change as well as all the dimmers which takes time to change but longer to figure out what they have changed to. Needless to say between these recent versions the lighting has changed again. I’m not doing it again until the continual updates stop. It’s just not worth wasting time with while it’s a moving target.
Speaking of configs, I’m not sure if this was always a problem, but my config for the alternators has an issue.
Despite the fact that I am not using toggles, if they somehow start out of sync, which I have seen for other switches like battery being randomly on at spawn for some reason, they act like toggles.
I tested this by having one on, and the other off, and when I flip this switch they will alternate as if they are toggles.
I didn’t have much luck with conditionals either, which I have used successfully elsewhere when toggle was the only way to go.
On another note entirely, does anyone else think this is far too low:
fuselage_lateral_cx=0.2
That gives it a drag coefficient half that of a solid hemi-sphere.
It’s a slippery plane at the best of times, but this just makes doing forward slips harder than it should. Threads elsewhere, and mods, have suggested that a value of 0.8 might be more suitable.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drag_coefficient
I’ll have a play around with that this evening I think.
Hi everyone,
I just downloaded the newest update from the Marketplace (Version 4.3.3), does anyone have more information on the status of the weather radar functionality on that version? In the changelog from the website, the last version with the weather radar notice is “V 3.4.3 Hotfix”, however, it still seems to be non functional for me.
By the way, for anyone wondering where to get bindings.xml
for the Marketplace version, it can be found in the “Xbox zip file” from the FSW homepage.
Edit: The weather radar does work on the Marketplace version, it’s just not on by default, you have to twist the top right knob “Radar Range” on the unit. The knob has an “off” position, which it is set to by default.
Edit 2: It seems that the Hardware_Bindings.xml
from the homepage are likely somewhat outdated as there has been an update with “major update to binding hardware” recently.
Weather radar seems to work in 4.4.0, which you can get direct from FSW, and I assume elsewhere. You can choose between the modes Wx, and MAP.
Why don’t those of us who buy it in the market have the manual in pdf?
Just downloaded latest update on xbox.
Lost my hobbs meter hours, rpm needles no longer work, now pulls to the right on the ground, air con doesn’t work!!.
Cheers flightsimwere
When is this happening?
Taxing and take off!!.. Glad I have the 310r to fly!.
Wind will play a factor here, but I’ll assume you know about P-Factor, engine torque, and that the 414 props both turn clockwise. All of these will need right rudder to compensate, more so if you have a left crosswind.
The plane isn’t broken, you just haven’t figured out how to control, it yet, but you will.
As he said he lost his Hobbs meter hours, I think he has some ours on the aircraft and is noticing a difference since the last update, so that patronizing is out of place.
I’m not patronising, just saying don’t give up on it. I’m sure they can speak for themselves without your help, but thanks.
It’s a great plane, very benign on takeoff roll, so if they are having problems as described on takeoff or taxi, they have to be doing something wrong.
Perhaps it’s a version thing. I’m using version 4.4.0, and I’m not sure that version has made it to the Marketplace yet.
At some point the developer added the static friction options, which help a lot because in general MSFS has pretty poor ground handling. An interesting thread of that subject can be found here:
What I didn’t post previously is I believe the 310 has counter rotating props, which is why I said the 414 doesn’t, which may also explain why the 310 is easier.
Aircraft seems to be better today did a re install.
Air con now works as do all the instruments, sorry for rant it was born out of frustration at the time.
Still lost my flight hour’s 100 gone!!.
Oh well just have to rack them up again
If you are on PC they can easily be restored. A file contains the Hobbs meter readings. Reinstalling the plane shouldn’t wipe those though as they are stored elsewhere.
I’ll dig out the path shortly.
Xbox unfortunately
I’d be more annoyed if they were wiped from my kodiak that has 327 on it!!!
Version 4.4.1 is out. The change log link on their website isn’t working so the latest change is below:
V 4.4.1 SU12
UPDATES:
-
Typos on the tablet before takeoff checklist fixed.
-
Updated the ADI slip/ball and the turn & bank slip/ball animation so both are in sync. Also updated the config/performance for realism and so for example the ball will swing full deflection when when rudder is full deflection and stay.
-
Updated config/performance so that full rudder deflection and wings level will produce a slow heading change.
Same here. Have flone for months. Current update seems to work fine.
OK thanks.
I see that they are already in Version 4.4.1, I am with the market update from the other day to 4.0.1
