I bought it yesterday and had no issues on takeoff on my first flight, on the landing though as soon as it touched down it pulled to the right and no amount off left rudder kept it from going off the runway. Now it happens on takeoff too, have to input full left rudder to keep it from going off the runway and then it becomes completely uncontrollable.
I don’t think it’s specifically these aircraft but a general sim thing. The moment you touch down the ground handling is shocking. It becomes even worse with higher winds. I think it’s been acknowledged that it needs work. It affects us all so it should be a priority IMO.
Never had any take-off issues with the Kodiak providing I do it by the book and trim for take-off, set two stages of flap, and do not let initial attitude go above 5 degrees or so until speed rises. Cold and dark you need to move the white line on trim wheel anticlockwise just over 90 degrees so it sits just below being straight forward.
If you fly the Kodiak with the correct settings for trim, there isn’t an issue at take off at all. Just straight into the air!
I’m aware of the its and bits of the Kodiak and the right rudder trim for takeoff and everything in between. I know how to fly it.
At least the Kodiak is predictable since we know we need some right rudder on takeoff but the C414 is very unpredictable in that regard, sometimes it leans hard left on takeoff and sometimes hard right. So you have to guess what rudder trim you need before takeoff and there’s no mention of any of that in the manual or checklist (unless i missed it).
Which leads me to conclude that it’s something that needs to be addressed.
Flip I thought it was just me… I only stared having the right left turns today as well…
There was a 15knt crosswind at Tauranga and it was pure hard right and when breaking, it would hard right too… but once in the air it was fine…
Must be a issue with the handling parameters…??
And I was having issues from just taxing on the apron and turning around at end of runway
I agree with this, but mostly on landing, the plane moves a lot, the rudder is too sensitive.
The rest thoug is 10/10
The only way to solve this right now is to turn on Auto-rudder in assistance menu. And i hate doing that because this feature makes all the planes become very boring to fly and makes the flight dynamics identical across all GAs somehow (give or take).
Latest Beta out. Camera positions now fixed…nice.
Anyone tried low speed handling with latest fix(FM updated) like on final approach, and the twitchy/abrupt elevator handling? Way too extreme (before) imho.
Just try it yourself? Only you can tell if the issues you’re vaguely describing are fixed for you. ![]()
Has anyone managed to setup feathering, with the Bravo throttle quadrant. I have to use Mouse to put props feathered position.
bind the button that’s in the ‘feather’ position on the quadrant to “prop reduce” with repeat. I did it with AaO, not sure how to do it in MSFS directly.
Thank you so much, will give it a go I have AaO as well.
Someone might have a work - and be away for several days.
Not only me commented on slow-speed-FM behavior. Several posts here and on discord; streamer Fabio among others thought it was way too twitchy on elevator…
Anyone having problems with the heading button on the GNS 530 autopilot?
Are you referring to the AP in the GNS530 variant? That has two controls, one in the pilot panel and one on the pedestal, see p. 51 + p. 53 in user manual v1.5. Together they enable HDG mode, works like a charm.
Using Beta 1.5 I notice pitch trim wants to return to level flight instead of pitch up for climb; left egt reading is inoperative; and right cylinder head temp is inoperative. This is using Garmin 530 livery.
I’ve been reading this thread for awhile, and I just can’t decide if this addon is worth it. Should I buy it despite the common issues?
It’s BETA it’s an amazing add on and it’s constantly being fixed and tuned. Go for it
