I love this Dev’s dedication and energy on discord. But just out of curiosity: Why can’t he hire and work closely with couple real life 414 pilots, listen to every little mini thing they suggest regarding flight model, and just apply it and get it over with?
They’re already doing that. This addon is based on a real 414 and they are working with that pilot. As they’ve said, they haven’t not even really started on the flight model in earnest yet. That’s why it’s in beta.
Perhaps cause it’s a VOR and not a VORDME ?
Confirm the frequency with the enter button in the lower left corner. That locks it in.
Just stumbled across 1.8.0 on the website, in case anyone else didn’t know it was out…
As a customer you should get an email. And for what it’s worth, it is still lacking performance compared to 1.70.
For those who may not be on Discord, the developers have been very active the past week discussing how they have added drag to improve pitch angle in descent. This in turn has affected the top-end performance and the lower speeds seen since the update. They are in work with making further adjustments and are well aware of the issues present. It is nice to know they are working hard to improve the performance and get it as close to the real thing that they can.
Funny thing - I bought it on the day 1.7.0 was released and that was the version it downloaded - next day I got an email telling me there was an update to 1.7.0 ![]()
Haven’t had one since then, but decided to check all my 3rd party product pages yesterday.
edit: I’m actually leaving it on 1.7.0 just now as it seems the problems started with 1.7.1 - at least that’s what I understood and it seems fine as far as performance is concerned in 1.7.0 - whether it’s on the numbers, I don’t know, but it feels okay so I’m happy enough.
I am on 1.8.0 and I have to say that the landing performance has improved significantly. That float on landing is just not there like it was before and you can feel the drag that they have added in. The pattern work feels much better now and I have been having a good time with it.
The brakes still need work though, right now they don’t seem to have an effect until they slam on and the plane swerves hard to whichever side activates first.
hey guys. can anyone point me to instructions on how to change to the different panel configurations? i just looked in the official manual and couldn’t find anything.
thanks!
It is tied to the livery. When you select a livery you will see 3 different versions for the panels.
Hopefully they will find a way to use a PDA to switch between cockpit layouts.
On another note, I was playing around with failure states earlier. I was flying above the maximum speed for gear deployment, and when I pulled the lever the gear were locked in a partially deployed state. Even when I slowed down they wouldn’t raise or lower. I had to use the emergency gear deployment lever, which seems to lower them in incremental steps.
It allowed me to land but the right main gear collapsed. It certainly looked like it was down, and locked though.
Much more satisfying than a black screen telling me I crashed or overstressed the airframe.
ah ok that worked. kind of strange that it’s tied to livery imo.
i just got the amazing new cessna 310 and you can change the nav panel in the sim using the tablet. very handy! maybe the 414 devs can add that in the future
another quick q: in the EFB tablet I press the different checklists but nothings happens. how do you get the checklists to appear?
If you are talking about the 414, it’s still a beta release and I believe that part is yet to be introduced.
ah well that would make sense. i see all of the checklists right there in the pop-up tablet but couldn’t get them to open
I can’t seem to get NAV2 to work. I click FRQ on the pad, enter the frequency, and then click ENT. I set the RMI to NAV2, but it doesn’t receive. I can set NAV1 to that frequency to confirm the signal is received, but NAV2 won’t pick it up. Also, I can’t seem to get COM2 to work. Are these not currently modeled?
I use Nav 2 all of the time, but manipulate it through the Logitech multi panel or streamdeck. Works well and is great on cross country flying.
After watching numerous videos, reviews and forum discussions…I am glad I have the 414. Love the pressurized cabin, range… glad the sounds will be updated. I think I might pass on the other twin and stick to this.
Love this plane!
