Flysimware Cessna 414A

I just got this aircraft. So beautiful. BUT …
I cannot switch on the avionics. :frowning:

Is there a trick?
Also… I have a Honeycomb Bravo throttle quadrant. I’m unable to lower the landing gear with the gear leaver. Has anyone got this working? It seems to just go into a clicking sound grenzy when I pull the gear up. As if it’s clicking g hundreds of times per minute.

The honeycomb landing gear handle is an always on switch so the plane may be having issues constantly getting gear up commands. Not an issue I’ve seen on other aircraft but this is a beta. Try this, generally a better way to bind as well especially if you have a ‘off’ position for landing gear in larger planes (see the DC6) you can use the mouse to move it without it being stuck on up or down.

Bind ‘gear down’ to the handle up position and set it to ‘on release’ and vice versa for ‘gear up’ bound to the handle down position ‘on release’.

That may fix it.

I think you are currently using this “Garmin 750 NXT XI” version (or whatever this is called) of the Cessna Chancellor.
This is a payware addon and cannot be used with the normal Flight Sim 20, and it can also not be switched on.

The other two versions of the airplane should have functional avionics if you have the PMS50 GTN750 installed.

It looks like you dont have the pms50 gtn750 addon installed. This is a free addon and required dor using the gtn750 (there is no standard gtn750 in the sim).

Perfect! Thanks very much! Seems like a workaround, but it certainly works! Thanks.

Nailed it. Thanks!

That is the pms version which requires the pms 750. The other 2 versions don’t require the pms 750 at all.

Heads up everybody! I think that we are expecting another release today according to the website.

Yes. Also posted on their discord.

I’ve not downloaded the last 2 or 3 ‘smallish’ updates but this one looks quite interesting.

Hello! I want to buy a plane. When will it be available in the marketplace?

We don’t know at the moment. The aircraft is still in the development “Beta” phase and is only available through the FlySimWare website currently. That said, it feels as though the aircraft is nearing completion so hopefully it will not be too much longer from the marketplace. A word to the wise, if you purchase the aircraft now through the website, you will get it at a discount. Once it goes to the marketplace as a finished product, the price will be higher. It is very much worth it to pick it up now from FlySimWare.

That depends on where you live. Marketplace has regional prices for many countries which sometimes is half the price of the USA and Europe price. People living in those countries prefer to buy in the Marketplace.

That all sounds very nice, but there are certainly quite a few users, including myself, who would have liked to buy the plane already if they offered more payment options on their webshop. There are some methods (Klarna, sofortüberweisung.de, etc…) where you can pay directly from your bank account. For me and I’m sure for many other people, credit card or Paypal are simply out of the question due to many negative experiences. A webshop that does not offer these much safer payment methods is guaranteed to lose a lot of sales

Not sure if this was reported before but I did a full shutdown while in flight to simulate a complete failure and I used the emergency handle to drop down the landing gears and it worked fine. But the touchdown wasn’t, the right gear was sinking below the runway… left gear was on the tarmac but the right side I was on my wing instead of the gear. Maybe there’s an issue when you drop the gears using the emergency handle. Anyone else had that before?

I will have to give that a try. I am curious myself.

I had the exact same experience, but for different reasons. Landing gear was damaged, and would not fully lower. I used the emergency handle, and watched from the outside view. The gear came down in little steps, man’s wasn’t smooth, like animation frames were missing.

When the gear looked like it had fully deployed I landed, but a few seconds after touchdown the right wing hit the runway surface. I assumed that the right gear had not fully deployed after all, but perhaps this is actually a bug?

Yes , it does go down by steps and you can kind of hear the mechanism pumping somehow. I thought that was maybe the real life behavior of the aircraft. But I confirm both gears were down equally and it was the right side as well. So hearing that you had the same issue , I’m almost certain that it is because it is not well implemented.

Did you check the gear lights? This is what I see:

Using the Emergency Gear Handle doesn’t lock the gear down. Pulled at 120 KIAS (i.e. below 130 KIAS as per the POH), the red Gear Unlocked light stays lit, the Nose Wheel green light is lit and both Mains green lights stay unlit. Yawing aggressively doesn’t help. Externally the mains and nosewheel look to be in the normal gear down position but on landing the right main collapses (collapsing gear to be expected when not locked). Repeatable.

Bug report already raised on Discord.

EDIT: Changelog for Beta 2.2.0 says emergency gear will now lock all gear down.

How exactly did you achieve that result. The placard adjacent to the emergency gear handle says to put gear handle in down position IIRC, which in turn lowers the gear normally. Perhaps because the CB’s are not modelled this operation is not correct.

That was quick!
