Flysimware Cessna 414A

Thanks for the replies. So far this aircraft is on my top 5 list for quite some time. But still looking to learn since its a blast to fly. Ill give more tries today. Ill have a look on that setting.

It looks like it was indeed a bug:

A custom “systems.cfg” has been made available to test out de-icing effects, along with this value:

windshield_deice_rate=0.005

You are correct. Was on METRIC. Changed to Hybrid.

Finally im climbing past 12.000ft, like a pro.

Thanks for all the advices.

I’d suggest reporting it to flysimware so they can address it in the documentation or in the code.

You mean the METRIC / HYBRID setting?

Also past 14.000 feet, whats the ideal MP / RPM setting? to get to like 20.000
currently im on 31" MP and 2400 rpm 130 PPH fuel flow

Yeah, I’d report that METRIC doesn’t indicate properly (your altimeter shouldn’t be showing 9000’ when you’re really at 9000M etc)

I use 30/2500 all the way to cruise. When you get above the altitude the turbocharger can maintain that (critical alt) you will need to start nudging the throttles forward every so often to keep it there.

Appreciate. I´m at 16000 stable now and cruising on 31/2100

whats the ideal cruise speed KIAS?

Im around 160 right now.

I tend to use 30/25, with fuel burn at between 18.5 to 19.2 gal/hr.

That will usually get me about 180kts, but more if I climb higher. I have had 215kts in the same configuration.

uhmm interesting, i can go faster then

Unbelivable how faster this one is compared to the 310R

Whats your fuel mixture? I´m on 4 right now with fuel burn around 21 gal/hr

Also what is the Propeller Synchrophaser?

Looking to giving an advice to a friend who started a few months on MSFS.

He should wait till the final release is up or the “introdutory price” is only for the beta and will cost him more to get the final release instead of grabing the beta right now?

Glad you got it sorted. A couple more things. I think this has already been reported but it will not hurt to raise it again assuming you have the latest version that is. Secondly the dev recently stated that the plans have changed and the release price is going to stay the same as the beta. This is in part because the beta had such a big response.

Thanks buddy.

Now i need to perfect my landing. Tried an ILS approach, but after i got to 4300ft i messed up and landed too hard. Crashed :frowning:

I used IAS to go to 4300ft but after LOC got engaged i dont think it captured the GS
So i was kinda lost

Having a lot of fun with this one and the 310R

Oh nice, ill tell him to get right away and start learning.

It is incredible difficult to make an ILS approach with an airplane without automatic autopilot auto-thrust option available.

The plane is constantly getting too slow or too fast. That´s why I don´t like long stable approaches with GA planes because they are never stable  I always land them like they were a jet plane, fast and steep, flaring and butter the landing.

I love that they were so innovative. They brought the GFC600 to a simulator, but my only frustration is that the GFC600 in the 414A can only be used in combination with a glass PFD.

What technique do you use? Trim for speed and use throttle to adjust descent rate. And of course you can use pitch to adjust glide path, but this will affect the speed obviously.

i had ILS make the approach until around 10nm
then i disabled the autopilot and tried to follow the path

i ended up to fast and dropped to heavy on landing. Crashed :frowning:

Hey folks. Can anybody tell me the conditions required to see the red engine glow from the engine vents? I only caught it once a good while ago but it looks amazing and I haven’t been able to replicate it since. Any suggestions?

I have seen it every time I have flown at night.
