I have flown a number of successful IFR lights and approaches in the Vision Jet SF50 in MSFS 2020. However, I have seen the AP not capture the GS on approach on several flights. Today, flew and ILS approach right up to almost landing and MSFS 2020 had an airplane on the runway taking off and had me execute a missed approach. Executed missed approach and received clearance to an initial waypoint in the arrival. re-loaded the approach in the Vision Jet FMS and selected “Direct to” the waypoint I was cleared to. The autopilot would not execute the “Direct to”. The auto throttle was working as expected but had to use heading to get to the inbound course. “Direct to” never worked again on the flight. Was able to activate approach mode but the AP ignored the glide slope. It was going to fly over the airport even though it initially looked like it has GS captured. Some really strange behaviors. The Vision Jet itself is a wonderful aircraft to fly. I assume these are bugs seen by others in MSFS 2020. They seem to occur randomly based on the situation.
When flying the missed approach the FMS/G3000 automatically switches into a SUSPend mode and won’t fly the navpoints/direct to’s. When reaching an altitude free of obstacles you can put the FMS out of SUSP mode by clicking on the “SUSP” icon in the PFD GTC. In normal flight it’S the OBS button. You switch the FMS back into action and it starts following the missed approach nav points or any new nav data like a new loaded approach or your directs. That’s how it’s working for me. Be aware I’m not a real pilot and never learned it in real life. ![]()
I haven’t been able to get the Vision Jet to catch the glide slope once yet on ILS or Rnav. I have no issues in Sr22 or DA62.
I intersect the LOC, but can’t catch the GS. GS never even shows up in white. I’ve tried everything I know to do. At one point I thought it was because maybe I wasn’t activating the approach mode on the cirrus touch screen, but tried that and it didn’t work either
Do you have an approach in the FMS setup and did you hit the APR button on the autopilot panel? And don’t do it to late.
The Jet mostly catches the GS when I “dropps” down. I think the G3000 can not catch it, if it is allready lower than your altitude.
it probably is something with how i’m trying to intercept.
Definitely do have an approach in the fpl and Im hitting the appr button as soon as I cross, sometime before the initial approach fix.
If I get to the Alt at the GS intercept point too soon, is that the problem? I’ve seen people post about intercept “above” or “below” and I’m just not following that.
WhenI look at the plate and it says 1,700 as the alt to intercept the GS, i’m probably always at 1,700 slightly before I get to the intercept fix.
Is that my problem? Do I need to be coming down still at the fix and hit 1,700 slight after crossing?
How I do it works fine on G1000, but I haven’t intercept the GS once in the vision jet even though I’ve got intercepted the LOC every time.
Usually I intercept the GS at the faf (final approach fix). I set my target altitude to the height as stated in the charts at the faf. I arm the approach on the autopilot panel before I intercept the localiser. So the APR mode first intercepts and lock the LOC (if it’s an ILS it says LOC, if it’s an LPV/VNAV/RNAV it only says FMS). In case of an ILS the diamond in the PFD is yellow and full to show that the AP locked onto. When reaching the final approach fix and the GS intercept altitude at that point you normally can see the GS diamond coming down on the right side on the PFD. When the GS diamond is in the middle it turns yellow (ILS) or magenta (LPV/RNAV) and GS turns from white to green and is in the top row where ALT normaly is. Most of the time the GS diamond is starting to wander down on the right side of the PFD next to the altitude when coming closer to the final approach fix.
In this video you can see when I activate APR. In this case it was very, very early, but the localiser was allready coming in on the left side on the PFD. ![]()
And shortly after that the GS was coming down on the right side in the PFD.

Shortly after that I was at the faf at 4000 feet and captured the GS:
Hope this helps.
