I have tried VR, today several flights in different planes, with a high end system and my new G2. Some prior experience as well. I like it. However, I can definitely fly again without it. The immersion is nice, but it’s not perfect, visually, or in particular, in how you control the environment. That isn’t perfect, with or without hand controllers being implemented, and won’t be for any game for quite awhile. I don’t mind that it’s not perfect, but the lack of it means that there are positives to sitting in front of a monitor or 3 and using my yoke, throttles, keyboards, sticks, rudders, mouse, game controller, and other stuff, while seeing some emails on the side, and watching some security cameras, drinking coffee or wine, etc.
I respect and enjoy VR, but as it is now, it’s not a ‘once VR, never back’ situation for me.
Best,
Mark
I wonder how do you look at your charts or flight plan while VR headset in on.
Seems an add on for navigraph is needed, but also something for a realistic flight plan, maybe simbrief or something.
Or… MS/Asobo step this one up.
