Focusing on the wrong things

The VR environment I was posting about was a proprietary system being used by a marine design firm. Only anecdotal, but I believe they had spent a couple of million developing both the hardware and software. I was able to walk around a control room and interact with the entire space as if I was actually in the room. There was a virtual mechanics tool box with wrenches and screwdrivers that you could pick up and use to manipulate fasteners.

My point was that when that level of VR becomes available to the general public, then I will get excited about it. After that experience I was kind of ruined for mainstream VR gaming.
