Hi !!
I am finishing the assembly of my new PC, and I was thinking of installing the current SSD of my old PC, where I have installed MSF2020 inside.
I was wondering, and I also ask you for advice, if it is possible to do it so that I could save myself from installing the SIM from scratch….
Thank you for your advice …
Save your time until tomorrow and download a fresh MSFS; 1.10.12.0

I have done a couple of installations and I found that it’s possible to keep the existing packages folder and just newly install the base, reusing the existing packages, which is significantly faster.
During the installation, the core of the simulator gets installed and then you are prompted to choose a location for your packages folder. If you point the installer to an existing packages folder, I believe it will skip the lengthy packages download/unpack process, which makes the whole task much quicker.
I would definitely install the core base from scratch on your new PC.
That’s just my take on it though and I’m not an expert… just what I experienced. Others may have further advice/opinions
As an aside note, I found the windows store installtion to be quite unstable and I couldn’t get my deluxe content to show in the sim. I got myself a refund and bought it on Steam instead, which was a much easier and straightforward experience.
Hope that helps.
[edit] As @FSEINDHOVEN says, if there’s a new version out tomorrow, then I agree with them and you should wait and do a complete fresh install on your nice, new PC. Less risky.
Tks for your reply, actually I used the CD to install MSF2020.
Probably I will delete the actual installation and make a fresh one, surely after the latest patch
